This is so based.

Saw this on Reddit and I thought it looked pretty nice:

If only the Olimar plushie had a helmet on it.

>Olimar is stuck on a planet again and needs help
Unless this is a fakeout/twist in place, it's amazing how this man still has his job at Hocatate
I mean if he keeps bringing back miraculous discoveries and such, I'd be sending him out on suicide missions all the time.

Come on Nintendo release the Pikmin 4 already! You said it will come out today.
Ok the demo is out and I played it.
Some thoughts.

1.)Is this an alternative history version of Pikmin 1 where Olimar crash lands on a different part of the Earth? Or did he crash land on the planet again? Lol
2.) The Character customization is a lot more limiting than it might appear.
3.) Oatchi the rescue dog, he's adorable. Whoever animated him at Nintendo did a good job.
4.) Oatchi himself can be independently playable as a second captain and can even throw and whistle Pikmin. Also don't let the trailers decieve you Oatchi can't swim at the beginning of the game.
5.) Caves are back and if you didn't like them previously I have good news for you. They're even more of them now.
6.) But unlike Pikmin 2 if you jump in one it will cost you some time in the over world.
7.) The daily time limit also seems shorter then in previous games.
8.) There's now a 20 Pikmin at a time limit at the start of the game and you can unlock more when you collect onions. The type of Pikmin the onion can reproduce is also limited to just Red Pikmin at the start even if you plucked other types of pikmin in the caves.
There's a hub world now with a long assed tutorial where litterally everything is either explained by a character or from some log on the + menu. Even over things the ship in Pikmin 2 didn't need to explain like the pellet posys.
9.) Overall it's a fun but slow start to the game.

5.) Caves are back and if you didn't like them previously I have good news for you. They're even more of them now.
My problem is not the caves themselves, is how they were made.

In Pikmin 2 some caves have more than 10 levels, its a slog. The difficulty is brutal, I got more mad at Pikmin 2 than any other supposedly "tough" game out there like Cuphead or Dark Souls. Another annoying thing is the complete lack of knowledge about what is going to be found in the cave, I always brought with me every kind of Pikmin just to find at the end of it that yellows or whites were completely unnecessary.

The level design in Pikmin 2 is just atrocious

EDIT - My bad, the game actually tells which pikmins you need to complete a cave. Played it a long time ago.

The caves in 4 are quite different from what we can see! They don't seem to be randomly generated ATM and are more polished areas!
