Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I'm glad I got mine last year, seeing this shit show would make me fucking furious if I didn't already have several. It was a remote raid last year, fuck you, I'm not going out of my way to find 10 other smelly nerds in my area to get one with better IV's. Niantic is retarded, their CM needs to ACK off into oblivion already.

I am currently experiencing a weird glitch in GO. Theres a gym right next to my work, so obviously I take it and hold it when I'm there. I get home last night and get a notification my Garchomp has been knocked out of that gym,I get 50 coins, and revive him. Come back the next day... The gyms still my color...
And my Garchomp is still in there...
But he's also back with me...
But my "in gym" page shows nothing, and I don't get an "add to gym" icon when I view it. The journal entry doesn't even exist, but I know for a fact I saw the notification.

My Garchomp is presently "Schrodinger's Garchomp".
I can berry him, I can mega/power up the one with me, its fucking wierd. I would provide screen shots, but theres no way to really do that without running at least a location dox risk.
Can you still get coins from the gym still?

Can you still get coins from the gym still?
No clue. If someone doesn't come by and clear it by the time I get home, I may send a spoof over to clear it. The gym recognizes I have something in there, but my "today" page doesn't, so I'm not sure which one it actually recognizes as "true". I would guess that I'll still get coins, because I am still occupying a gym space.

I just wish I could figure out how to replicate it. I'd love to explore everything that can be done with this bug, but its hard to when I don't even know why it happened.

Edit: I took a video of it. If I can edit it well enough to keep identifiable stuff hidden, I will post it.

What are they like now? I take it they're like "smartphone-y" games that try to feel like "Pokemon Go"?

It's that, in addition to the emphasis on Raids, meaning that you have to fork over more money for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. And Shiny Hunting for Legendary Pokémon got shafted in the Nintendo Switch games, as they were locked behind Dynamax Adventures in SwSh, even with the increased Shiny odds (1 in 300, or 1 in 100 with a Shiny Charm), you still need to rely on 3 other people to play the game correctly. And SV's DLC Shiny Locked the Legendaries. Compare that to the previous games, where you can Shiny Hunt for Legendaries by yourself, aside from the ones that were Shiny Locked since they implemented those in Gen 5. Poor Victini has been stuck in Shiny Lock hell for over a decade now.

The Item Printer/Cram-O-Matic seemed like they were going to make those as literal lootboxes that you had to pay IRL money to use, before changing it. And the Blueberry Points was literally the equivalent of Battle Passes in other games.

SV doesn’t have one. It’s why Part 2 of the DLC is so bad. You go to a facility that is all about competative double battles. And has an entire point based competition surronding it. And if you get a certain amount of points you can fight the leaders of the areas.

And yet despite that all being said in the narrative, there is no battle tower.

It’s worse than if they’d just had no tower and never said anything. Or even a sign saying one is being built.

Speaking of Battle Towers, I wonder why that other than in Gen 8, they never made a format where Legendaries and Mythics can be used, and your opponents would use them as well.

No, the regular games have the same ruleset as previous gens where legendaries and mythicals are banned. They lifted this rule as part of the ULTRA CHANGES
For proof:

This always bothered me: You can only take them into a regular challenge, meaning you only get to fight 20 trainers and their Pokemon don't scale up to yours. Most legendaries and mythicals are well over level 50, so they will just tear ass and make the whole thing a joke.
It would have been better if all normal level scaling rules applied to legendaries as well, but they started showing up past a certain points as well, that includes in the hands of bosses. This was always an issue with these powerful pokemon: There is nothing you can do with them, other than making the already easy story mode even easier, as you can't even bring them into most competitive facilities.

Then the question become "Why even have legendaries in the first place?". Even in RBY Mewtwo was busted as hell, all it took was a few Barriers and Amnesias along with Recover and he becomes a monster truck that can tank any hit imaginable (outside of OHKO's obviously)

Legendaries can be fun, Ubers are a great playlist in pretty much every generation. Problem is that Gamefreak treats these powerful pokemon more as trophies, so that they collect dust in the PCs once you catch them. They should have nerfed how many BP you get or buffed up the overall challenge to make up for it, I don't like having useless Pokemon that only exist to pad out the Pokedex. Hell, make a special playlist for just Legendary Pokemon, that would still be enough.

That is odd. I brought some Ultra Beasts just fine.

Rollerskating through Kalos was unironically a really happy time for me.

The fact that game is so relaxed was so nice. And it’s honestly why I feel that in terms of vibe SM perfected what XY did.

Before XY a lot of the Pokemon games never really felt relaxed. Which made XY an honestly welcome change, especially after BW.
XY sucked, I rushed through it and couldn't wait to finish the e4 to give a 1 star review.
The camera angles are annoying, especially in luminose city.

Agree on SM, it was chill and alola fun to visit.
When nuzlocked you have to prep alot for the boss battles and are able to enjoy the landscapes and soundtrack while Backtracking and grinding.
It's a game that aged well.

Any big city is a pain. It’s something I honestly hate Gen 5 for. Making big cities that are annoying to navigate. A trend they’ve kept doing in every Gen since, even to the point of messing with Mauville in ORAS.
I like ORAS but I can't stand the gay change they did to Mauville. It didn't strike me as the region's "big city" at all in the original games.

Supposedly it was the big city in RSE but they certainly did not need to show by…whatever they did in ORAS. It doesn’t show that off well at all.

Frankly Slateport and Lilycove felt more like that to me with the contest hall/market/department store. Mauville was definitely at the heart of the region though, they could have stood to add more instead of just a Gym and Game Corner.
