Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
No clue. If someone doesn't come by and clear it by the time I get home, I may send a spoof over to clear it. The gym recognizes I have something in there, but my "today" page doesn't, so I'm not sure which one it actually recognizes as "true". I would guess that I'll still get coins, because I am still occupying a gym space.

I just wish I could figure out how to replicate it. I'd love to explore everything that can be done with this bug, but its hard to when I don't even know why it happened.

Edit: I took a video of it. If I can edit it well enough to keep identifiable stuff hidden, I will post it.
So I just got done knocking out my Garchomp. I got coins, and he was suddenly fainted (despite being with me and in Mega form all morning) when he was knocked out "again". Gonna edit that video, just don't expect it today, nor for it to be pretty. I've got to blur and mosaic a lot.

It hasn't been a very good weekend for Pokemon Go and Niantic (it wasn't a good week for them period). Nobody loved this elite raid event because eggs barely popped up after 12 p.m., and the community portion of the event Niantic wanted didn't work as planned. People were scrambling to get to other eggs if they weren't in cities with shit loads of elite gyms, so it was every group for themselves. Oh yea, a lot of these raids were in parks, so if your phone service sucks in these areas, you're fucked trying to do anything thanks to the lag and shitty connection. My experience with this event was awful (see the spoiler. You can laugh at my misery):

Oh yea, Pvp is beyond fucked because now people are cheating through discord and lag freezes. I've come across some cheaters in Great Battle League.

My family and I planned to do this event when I would visit them this weekend, and we tried the in-game campfire; but to use the in-game campfire app (which is fucking trash), you had to go through a bunch of hurdles just to connect it to Pokemon Go. So we get to the event, which is in some isolated park, and it turned out the fucking leader (some old cat lady bitch) and a bunch of other people (most of them sjw-looking, ghetto fucks who will scream at you over pronouns) already killed Rayquaza, so we were shit out of luck. Apparently they failed a couple of times during the 12 o'clock portion, and when people for the 1 o'clock raid came, they did it before we got there. Nobody besides us and 2 other people showed up after they took down the raid.

We take a stab at the raid since nobody could help us, but we could only take it down to 50% (party of 4). 2 other people I mentioned joined us, but it still had 30% of its health left. I had some autistic rage during the attempts because my phone would freeze or lag like a bitch from being in some shit hole park. I could't do anything like dodge or even attack Rayquaza. I never had issues when I did quick raids on my work breaks (a delay here and there, but it was manageable). Cat lady said there might be more people at 5, but I had to leave. My family I visited went to the 5 o'clock raids, and they had better luck because people showed up. I caught a Shiny IV ticket violation on my way home. When I came back from visiting them, I checked to see if there were any elite gyms near me, but there was nothing local. I would have to either to go a woke hipster shit hole or a sanctuary city to get a shot at Rayquaza. Fuck that noise. I barely touched the game today, and I'm considering whether or not I want to quit because it's such a mess. I know this fusion event is going to be another disaster, and July's events aren't anything to jerk off to unless you missed out on Ultra Beasts. Elite raids are cancer.

I'm glad I got mine last year, seeing this shit show would make me fucking furious if I didn't already have several. It was a remote raid last year, fuck you, I'm not going out of my way to find 10 other smelly nerds in my area to get one with better IV's. Niantic is retarded, their CM needs to ACK off into oblivion already.

I am currently experiencing a weird glitch in GO. Theres a gym right next to my work, so obviously I take it and hold it when I'm there. I get home last night and get a notification my Garchomp has been knocked out of that gym,I get 50 coins, and revive him. Come back the next day... The gyms still my color...
And my Garchomp is still in there...
But he's also back with me...
But my "in gym" page shows nothing, and I don't get an "add to gym" icon when I view it. The journal entry doesn't even exist, but I know for a fact I saw the notification.

My Garchomp is presently "Schrodinger's Garchomp".
I can berry him, I can mega/power up the one with me, its fucking wierd. I would provide screen shots, but theres no way to really do that without running at least a location dox risk.
They need to get rid of Kestral because that tranny faggot probably told Niantic Tik Tok would be a great idea never mind Tik Tok is getting banned now. Like you said, it was more accessible last year, and the fact they made this an 80k+ elite raid is fucking retarded. You know they're going to fuck up the Fusion event. I also came across the gym bug.

Can you still get coins from the gym still?
Yes, but according to another player who has been playing for a while, the coins got nerfed. The most you can get is 50 coins max (not per day. Max). So you could have a pokemon hold a gym for a week, and the most you're going to get is 50 fucking coins. I left a Salamance in some gym nobody touched for 8 days, and all I got was 50 coins. It's pointless to even hold gyms beyond a day.

It's that, in addition to the emphasis on Raids, meaning that you have to fork over more money for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. And Shiny Hunting for Legendary Pokémon got shafted in the Nintendo Switch games, as they were locked behind Dynamax Adventures in SwSh, even with the increased Shiny odds (1 in 300, or 1 in 100 with a Shiny Charm), you still need to rely on 3 other people to play the game correctly. And SV's DLC Shiny Locked the Legendaries. Compare that to the previous games, where you can Shiny Hunt for Legendaries by yourself, aside from the ones that were Shiny Locked since they implemented those in Gen 5. Poor Victini has been stuck in Shiny Lock hell for over a decade now.
It gets even better (note: worse): All the shinies in SV are shiny-locked. That's right. The Paldean beasts, the bike dragons, and even the new legendary turtle don't have shiny colors you can catch.

I still want to know who's idea was it to Shiny Lock Starters (the first one you get) in the Nintendo Switch games (except BDSP, so the Briefcase Game is still a thing). The lengthy cutscenes before selecting one in XY and SM/USUM were already a huge disincentive to Soft Reset for Starters (but there are still people who do it to get a Shiny Starter), so why get rid of them outright now?

And it would have been funny if they didn't Shiny Lock the Gift Jirachi and Mew in BDSP, but typical no-fun Masuda said no to that and Shiny Locked them anyway.

I didn't realize the event was as bad as it was until I read through your experience and comments on the videos. I don't usually run with groups largely due to being extremely anti-social and there not being many players in my area to begin with (hence why I have spoofs, they help make up for lack of players, and I'm a whore enough to use remote passes + Pokegenie) so I often forget just how different my experience is to the majority of players. Had I of not picked up Ray last year, I'd probably just skip this event entirely. I don't have time to be running around town all god damn day chasing raids, burning gas, and trying to round up the few people I know who play into a very limited time window for something even us with an army of decent spoofs have shoddy chances at best of even taking down. Just let me throw $2 at you every time I want to do another from the comfort of my own home, if I didn't already have it that'd be like an easy $30-$40 out of me, Niantic you stupid fucks. Or just make it a god damn Raid Hour event if you want me to go out so bad, not this stupid ass Elite Raid garbage.

That explains a lot. I don't pvp much (its pretty much a fucking coin flip to begin with, and its fucking miserable) but I knew there was some fishy shit going on with some of my matches. So many unblocked attacks where I'm just thinking "how the fuck did you actually predict that?"
PvP is in dire need of an overhaul entirely, but I'm not a Niantic dev so I'm not even sure what would be possible in that regard. You would likely have to redo the entire combat system of the game honestly.

Well I got it done today just to get it done. I also learned my video editing software's pixelation filters are fucking dog shit for larger images, so I had to improvise a bit. Sorry if it looks like a snuff film, but thats PGO for ya. You should at least be able to tell that my Garchomp both is and isn't in the gym, while also being but not being mega. Great stuff Niantic.

Colress' team is tougher than Cynthia's (in postgame BW2), at least to me anyway.
Hasn't she a weak ass glaceon in bw2?

Ghetsis is way weaker in BW2, too.
Why does he have two mediocre Gen 4 poison types instead of his mighty Bouffalant and Bisharp? His theme and appearance is even more menacing than in BW but there is no challenge.

Toxicroak is so bad, it's Stab moves cant one shot anything , in competitive and even vanilla playthrough. Sucker punch fails to kill slightly bulkier ghosts and psychic types.

Losing in BW1 made him retarded. You can tell because he spends a lot of his BW2 screentime going on schizo rants.

Anyway, EMERALD ROGUE CHADS, OUR TIME IS NOW

Which is a massive shame, because I love Toxicroak. But even in my vanilla playthrough of Diamond it just would get a decent hit in and abruptly die. I think I eventually just dropped it because it wasn't really doing anything for my team.

I'm at the point into believing that this is the norm for the series. Only major challenge that I actually had was facing off against Red in HeartGold, but that was mainly from just how absurd of an outlier that fight was.
The Necrozma fights in Ultra games were pretty hard since they are higher level than what you're used to at that point and the Pokemon comes out of nowhere for you to fight.
Other than that? Yeah, there really is no challenge. Balancing was always all over the place in those games, that's why I like competitive facilities and online that puts everyone on even grounds.

2.0 is already out and you can play it

It's kino. It has so much fucking new content that I cannot even begin to list it all. But basically... all mainline gym leaders? Check. Gen 9 and Hisui mons added? Check. Dynamax and Tera? Check. Every mainline MC playable? Check. Every rival included? Check. And that's just the stuff you can see BEFORE winning your first run...

Oh sick! I'll DL it and play it tonight!

Is it hard to get into rogue if my knowledge of pokemon ends at gen 5?

I dunno about 2.0, but if its like 1.0, your first few runs will just be the Hoenn dex, so Gen 1-3, there may also be modifiers to only use pokemon from specific gens.

As someone who stopped playing after 7 though, and is only vaguely familiar with Gen 7, these roguelike hacks have been a great way to play around with the new Pokemon in a game that isnt miserable to play!

Not at all, you have the option of only starting with gens 1 through 3, and then switching to a full NatDex later. PLUS once you beat your first run you can switch your pokedex settings to only encounter mons from certain gens (with specific settings, so you can either have BW dex with only Unova mons, or the B2W2 dex with stuff from earlier regions).
