Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

We most likely have DLC on the way, so it'd make sense that they would want to make sure that the base game is mostly functional before it's released.
That's a fair point, I'd just like to see a meta shift sooner rather than later tbh, be it DLC or Home support. Even in Casual people are usually running the exact same boring shit over and over. I can only smear an Armarouge and Indeedee combo across the pavement so many times before it loses its luster.

On a side note, a fun set I've found is Scream Tail, Dreadnaw, Torkoal, and Flutter Mane. Funnily enough, it's almost never the paradox mons doing the work. No one expects the turtles.

Before I g on, I wan to revise some old posts.

I decided to rever to the old ways of using PaleoFeed/Brick Pieces and Soylent/Up-Grades in evolving the present counterpart instead of the pre-evolution of the present counterpart, since th exceptions (Magikarp, Cyclizar, Delibird) were too noticeable. Instead, I plan on buffing any inferior stats of Past Salamence, Future Hydreigon, and Future Tyranitar to their present counterparts.
  • Past Salamence: HP 105, ATK 139, DEF 80, SAT 110, SDF 101, SPD 119 (Total 654)
  • Future Hydreigon: HP 94, ATK 105, DEF 90, SAT 125, SDF 90, SPD 108 (Total 612)
  • Future Tyranitar: HP 100, ATK 134, DEF 110, SAT 95, SDF 100, SPD 72 (Total 611)
Looking at the BST, I think that some rebalancing is in order.

I also decided to revise a few evolutions.
  • Charcadet → Fire Stone → Armarouge
  • Finizen → LV 38 → Zero Palafin → Link Cable → Hero Palafin
  • Gimmighoul → high friendship at day → Gholdengo
  • Ralts → LV 20 → Kirlia → LV 30 → Gardevoir → Soylent → Iron Valiant
  • Ralts → LV 20 → Kirlia → Sun Stone → Gallade → Soylent → Iron Valiant
  • Tsuinzu → LV 22 → Beta Girafarig
  • Johtonian Girafarig → LV 32 → Farigiraf
  • Yanma → LV 33 → Yanmega → Soylent → Future Yanmega
Why I changed these:
  • Because of the underusage of the Fire Stone, I had Charcadet evolve wi the Fire Stone, instead.
  • I figured tha the Link Cable fits more the Union Circle requirement (because of the social aspect, especially with trading) and the switching requirement (since trading involves switching party members or trainers).
  • Because of that, the once-unused 'high friendship at day' requirement was passed to Gimmighoul, since Gholdengo is very bright and no longer a ghost hiding in a dark chest.
  • Kirlia got its original evolution to Gardevoir, though I replaced the Dawn Stone wi the Sun Stone, since they both are light-based stones and also fi the 'knight in shining armour' trope.
  • I had Tsuinzu evolve at LV 22 because of the 'two' motif.
  • Instead of having Johtonian Girafarig and Yanma evolve with a move, I would have them simply reach the LV in which they would gain the move, evolve from the LV, then pretend tha the move caused th evolution. Dunsparce, though, would keep an evolution, since I find the friend-based evolution too befitting Dunsparce's fandom repeatedly hoping that he would evolve.
I also would replace the Zapdos line wi the intended Swords of Justice, though, since they actuall have four members (Cobalion, Terraikion, Virizion, and Keldeo, ignoring the redundant Resolute Forme), I decided to add the character design exercize from the designer of the Legendary Beasts:

I might add a Past Dunsparce, since I found ou that Dunsparce might had flied to the skies in the past, though, due to balance issues that would have m eithe replace Past Victreebel or add a new line with a new Future counterpart. I plan on Future Sigilyph in that case, though I am already tight in remaining Pokéspace, since DLC of the official games is almost a guarantee. I might end up getting rid of the Bellsprout and Zubat lines if things get really bad, but I feel that all of the developmen time being spent on having to fix the many bugs of the games and even por the old Pokémon would reduce the amount of time the developers have in making new Pokémon.

I finally finished my Omega Ruby Hardcore Nuzlocke with a team of Swampert, Cacturne, Camerupt, Magnezone, Armaldo and Mawile.
The grande finale was pretty unspectacular. BDSP e4 was way harder and i had to plan ahead every single step.
Mawile had the moves Iron Defense, Play Rough, Baton Pass and Iron head, Armaldo had Rock Polish, Hone Claws and a choice between Brick Break, Rock Tomb, Stone Edge, Earthquake and X-Scizor
I solo'ed Glacia and Drake with this Combo, set up three Iron Defense, then swap out into armaldo, set up further and sweep.

The only remarkable thing was that this little fag Steven switched out his Aggron for Claydol to predict my EQ from armaldo. It got poisoned by skarmory and managed to take down 3 pokemon but the AI was actually pretty smartass in this battle. Magnezone and Swampert had to clean up the rest, with Camerupt in the back.
Also, in ORAS the gym leaders aren't the problem, but random trainers are. At least if you don't overlevel with the EXP share.
The movesets are much better than vanilla rse, i think this is what makes guts swellow kinda disappointing compared to the original games.
It's just too squishy and if an enemy manages to live a hit from it, youre dead. In RSE the enemys have not the kind of moveset thats able to harm the bird.

The next challenge in Sun has already begun and i'm currently at the entrance of trainer school with a team of Pikipek, Slowpoke and Rowlett at around level 7 or 8.

While you wait until (if) my hack gets released, the one who made the video that inspired this hack is making her own fangame (not a hack) based on the concept.

I do not kno what a 'ton hack' is, but, since I do not see anything related to gender in any of Claire' social media, I say that Claire is a true and honest woman.
Its auto(in)correct fucking up rom hack, thats what it is. God damn motherfucking phone hurts more than it helps most of the time.

edit: Now dick hacks, those are definitely trannies. Jury is still out on harry hacks.

Other than a single small stability patch a few weeks from launch, have there been any actual updates or patches? Has anything gotten better for S/V?
There's a significant performance patch coming soon. It doesn't have a set release date other than "late February", so we'll be seeing it in a few days to a week. I made a post with the patch notes preview a page or two back.

Um... Is it bad that as a young adult, I've been watching certain episodes of the anime's first two seasons and loving them, and that I want to get a Nintendo Switch partly for the Metroid Prime Remaster, but more so for Pokémon?
Not bad, but not necessarily good. Nostalgia is like alcohol. Sometimes its what you need, but taken to excess it can distract you from things you'd feel better about doing after the fact. Like gardening. Or bottling my last batch of sugar wine...

It's worse: I'm a newbie. I've had no interest in Pokémon over my teenage life, but now I have an urge to play it!

I don't know why, either.

I think a Switch is an okay platform to get, provided you actually are interested in the line of games that Big N actually puts on it, and you are, you know, actually planning to use it as intended. (Ghetto home console or portable console to carry around during travel).

If you are going to play based off th earlier erisodes, I sugges that you play th earlier games.
Awai the 'inevitable' rereleases of the first Pokémon games when they appear on Switch Online... or get modded versions of the ROMs.

Buy a 3DS and homebrew it. You can play gens 4-7 normally on it (legally or otherwise) and play gens 1-3 by injecting them with homebrew (I don't think you can get 1-2 legit anymore since the eshop closed down, but they used to be available).

The 3DS and Wii U eShops don't close for another month or so but you do need to pair your NNID and Nintendo Switch IDs and enable fund sharing in order to get Gens 1-2.

Also, you'll need to download Pokémon Bank and pay $6 USD to get Poké Transporter if you want any Pokémon from Gens 1-5 without homebrew.

Is it easy to homebrew a 3DS without the risk of bricking it? I got my hands on a second one along with a Wii last month for a good deal and thought about homebrewing both of them.

get a 3ds switch is cucked and makes you pokeyman-tired. probably gen 7 best gen for a beginner since it was off-label made to get the new Pokemon Go audience in. If handholding doesn't bother you of course, otherwise get gen 6.
