Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Man they really dont know their audience anymore, do they? Then need to focus on what fans are asking for, rather than this, pokemon sleep or... whatever the other shit they're peddling is. It's really embarrassing for them and just drives the wedge that much deeper into the series. People will still buy it, but clearly they're hurting for ideas.

Holy shit these animations are jank, even League of Legends which is a game built on the foundation of awful spaghetti from 2009 has AAA quality animations compared to this. MOBAs are annoying to play not because of their mechanics, but because of the communities that surround them. Every MOBA community is full of tard raging babies that don't know how to shut the fuck up in a game where you're forced to work together to accomplish basically anything.

Why you'd want to pair that culture with Pokemon is beyond me. Can't wait for some neckbeard MLG gamer to run it down mid as Snorlax because Pikachu didn't gank his lane.

Thats a girl right? But the name makes it out to be a male.
According to the first hit on google it's a guy.

Why must gaming be plagued with so many traps.

Sneaky is male, iirc this whole trap thing started because he cosplayed a female character in League who had a pizza delivery girl skin as a joke for a twitter picture, and he got super popular off that because he was super convincing without really trying. So he started taking it more seriously and made more elaborate cosplays to play on stream like the one you see in that picture.

I'm perfectly fine with not announcing a Sinnoh remake this early especially they are still working on the DLCs for Sword/Shield. The last thing we really need is to rush a Sinnoh remake ala Sw/Sh again.

But still... just why? The big project turned out to be this? Is this a late April Fools joke?

I'm more confused why not just reveal this along side the other games, why space it out like this? Why give it like 11 minutes? why not just shadow drop the trailer?
I still maintain Pokemon's biggest threat will always be it's marketing team, but this whole thing is confusing even for me

So there's been a bunch of datamined stuff about the Crown Tundra. It appears that the two were being made at the same time.

First, the full list of returning mons:
No Johto starters, into to the trash it goes. I already own it, but it still deserves the trash.
At least it wasn't a Let's Go game, right? :optimistic:
Another Let's Go remake would have at least had a nicely remixed soundtrack. I haven't touched Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee yet and I still throw the soundtrack on repeat when I'm in a VG Music mood.
What's bad about Tencent besides being a Chinese company?
Their games are generally shallow, pay-to-win, and focused on poaching whales over actual gameplay. Hopefully Nintendo will keep them on a tight leash with monetization, but I'll believe it when I see it. Both Pokemon and Tenecent have a habit of dumping games if they're no longer profitable, so it won't last long if it isn't successful.

In this case the game is designed with a Chinese mindset, considering it's a MOBA which is very popular in Asia as a whole (You only gotta look at League to see that). Add in Nintendo's "Pay to Start" garbage and what @Jean Lafitte 1812 said, you have a cash grab using a popular IP that will get kids to empty their parents wallets that will easily be dropped if it doesn't meet sales quota. Let alone the wailords who will be playing due to their lack of self control.

It's funny they're doing this hot off the heels of Nintendo realizing their properties (Except Pocket Camp) are costing them money compared to the lucrative console gaming market they have (Also in part due to AC: New Horizons sales).

I'm more so worried, about Tencent being involved with a more console family focused company like TPCI over anything. Their influence in the gaming field (Epic, Blizzard, Riot, Ubisoft), means they'll keep pushing for more.

So they're gonna deny us a Pokemon MMO but thought a MOBA would win non-Asians over? Is that the gist of it?

And does Sinnoh really need a remake, honestly? They'd have to bring back the Underground if they did, but they might make that through Switch Online or something. So other than that and making the Azure Flute event actually legal to do, what could they really do with it?

Mobile MOBA's are getting massive in the east block, thanks to the groundwork laid by DOTA and LOL, making a pokemon MOBA makes perfect sence since Pokemon already has a long standing e-sport scene and infrastructure, it won't cost anything to add another game to the scene, and Tencent has so many MOBA engines and dev tools that the dev cost for this game was prolly paid out of the CEO couch lost money, this thing is going to make a profit even if it fails, and also MMO's are a very hard sell, nobody plays those anymore and the dev cost is MASSIVE for very little to no profit because everyone just rather play already stablished long standing MMO's.
On the topic of gen 4 remakes i rather not, after seeing gen 7 and 8 main games im fully convinced any remakes at this point are going to be absolutely fucking awful, i rather them just keep pumping spin offs by different studios rather than hand any more money to gamefreak

I think some would like to see the characters in a new light. In addition to them probably expanding upon the story of the world similar to what they did with R/S/E.

Now that people have cooled their heads, a lot of what I’m seeing is “okay, it looks... fine, but why did this need it’s own announcement?”
I wasn't all that bother myself. I was mostly laughing because I couldn't they actually did it.

I'll try it myself, but I'm pretty sure it won't entertain me all that much seeing as I wasn't able to get into LoL when I played that.

Yes because it isn't "super plot driven" like Black/White were.

Ps.

Gen 5 sucked..just a little less than Gen 3.
Gen 6 is in a weird place. It seems like creating the assets for the 3D pokemon and stuff sucked out their time to add sort of the garnishes that most Pokemon games have. It never really felt like you had an endgame to really sink your teeth into in XY. And Megas were definitely the start of the 'gimmick power-up' era.

There's also the fact that Gen. VI introduced far fewer new Pokémon species than any generation that had come before it (which, admittedly, isn't such a big deal now, given what's been released since then, but was pretty major at the time), and the fact that X and Y were full to the brim of bullshit Gen. I worship, down to the game forcing the Kanto starters upon you, and them and Mewtwo getting Mega Evolutions when the Kalos starters and legendaries didn't.

X and Y were also made retroactively worse when it became clear that no Z version (or a pair of sequels) was coming out, and Zygarde was relegated to being part of a tedious and out-of-place sidequest in Sun and Moon. It just made X and Y feel even more incomplete and underwhelming than they already did.
