DELPHI, Ind. (WLS) -- Indiana State Police are expected to release more details Monday morning about an arrest in the 2017 murder of two girls in Delphi

Police are expected to name the suspect during a news conference in Delphi at 9 a.m. Central Time.

Residents told ABC7 they've interacted with the suspect multiple times and said the individual reportedly worked at a local pharmacy.

Sources tell ABC's Indianapolis affiliate a person has been arrested in connection with the murders.

"The state police never really discussed details on what was found at the scene, but the belief all along is that there was at least some sort of genetic material," Brad Garrett, ABC News contributor and former FBI agent. "Clearly they have something that links him to the crime."

The case has been shrouded in mystery since February 2017 when 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German seemingly disappeared after going for a hike. Their bodies were found the next day.

"How did this come to light almost five years after this crime was committed?" Garret said. "Something broke in recent days, at least to the point that it gave them enough probable cause and evidence to arrest this new person."

The girls' killer was able to avoid capture, even with thousands of tips coming in to police and despite one of the teens, Libby, taking this grainy video the day of their disappearance showing a man walking towards the girls.

Authorities have said he may be the killer. Libby also captured a chilling recording, thought to be the man's voice.

Libby's family reacted to the update expected later Monday. Her sister Kelsi tweeted, "just know how grateful I am for all of you."

Just know how grateful I am for all of you. No comments for now, any questions please refer to the Carroll county prosecutors office. There is tentatively a press conference Monday at 10am. We will say more then. Today is the day%uD83D%uDC9C

Glad we have a thread on this because while reddit is a giant tire yard fire generally, the Delphi threads are like the epicenter. I mean, there's three threads but I think this is the most active?

I was kinda hoping an enterprising Farmer caught the crime scene photos; I've been intently curious about this case since the Down The Hill podcast and I'm still so conflicted about the supposed ritualistic murder scene. I'm at the point where I need to see it to believe it, or at least get a description that is signed off on by the prosecutor. Otherwise I'm leaning towards believing that these backwater sheriffs watch too much SVU and while overwhelmed with emotions while looking at a horrible murder, projected a framework that helped them "make sense" of the senseless.

That YouTube channel you posted @FatalTater is. . . Interesting. He takes some hard left turns in logic.

I've been looking, but I'm going to bet that no one is going to want to post those crime scene photos (at least not without being looked at for snuff CP) unless they're censored. That'd be okay, I want to see the scene, not necessarily the bodies.

As for the cult stuff, I've been to "those" parts of Indiana and can say with complete confidence that the white supremacist Odinist whateverist shit is real and all over the damn place. It's very believable that a bunch of those assholes took their foolishness to the next level.

and yeah, the Eye of Apophis channel takes some BS turns with the photo editing stuff too, but it's interesting.

Okay, who threatened the lawyers? Or maybe their families?

Tom Webster on YouTube talks about the case in a pretty level-headed way.

Patrick Westfall, one of the Odinists mentioned in the 136 page Franks Motion paperwork, did an interview with Sleuth Intuition YouTube channel.

I'm not sure I'd characterize it as a retarded mistake. Taking the phone would leave a clear trail that is way easier to correlate with someone. It's also hard to think of something more damning than being in possession of the phone if he was pulled over/searched for some reason. Even destroying it isn't an apparent right decision unless he knew the recordings existed. It's incredible how good forensics is at recovering data from "destroyed" devices and any easy way to break it is also likely to leave evidence tying the killer to it.
I mean there's a range of actions one could do between "taking the phone with you" and "leaving it under one of the bodies, intact." Smash and throw the pieces as far as you can into the woods.

I'm still not sold on this Odinist thing. The description of the scene reads as a very imaginative interpretation of two dead bodies with tree branches on and around them. The one girl dressed in the other girl's clothing is odd if true, but I'm not sure how that points to some sort of neo-Nordic human sacrifice.

That's because it's obvious bullshit and those defense attorneys are going to Helheim along with this murderous pedophile fuck.

I keep seeing people elsewhere on the innernets saying that they hope Richard Allen is found guilty so the families can find peace.
Um. I think if I had a family member get murdered I'd want the courts and police to make sure the guy they had in custody was the one guilty, and if he had any friends involved I'd want them caught too.
Maybe it's just me.

Reddit is feeling some kind of way about a youtube channel again.
Seems this time the person suggested that some members of Libby German's family have acted weird ever since the murders, and on their community page they put a watercolor of what the crime scene might look like.
Noticing things and painting what everyone had been visualizing are scandalous in the eyes of the reddit.

Edit 2
The more I look at the watercolor of the crime scene the more the limbs look less like runes. Not saying they aren't, the uruz rune might have been what was being attempted, or they might have been overlapping a couple different ones.

more discussion of the picture in Delphi After Dark youtube community post

Just think, if no one had seen those pictures and no one had spoken of what they saw, the public (myself included) might have easily believed that one guy randomly yoinked a couple teens and killed them. Without the details it sounds likely. Still might be possible.
I just want to know - if there really wasn't blood at the crime scene, where was it? A human body has about a gallon, gallon and a half of blood in it.
If they were drained of blood like a deer, a la Ed Gein's victim Bernice Worden, where was it done? At the crime scene in broad daylight and nobody noticed?
If I lived in that area I would be side-eyeing the hell out of local authorities right now.

I had recently asked who threatened the lawyers and their families. Now I ask, who threatened the judge? I'd bet an amount of money that I do not have that someone has.

Sounds like defense attorney Bradley Rozzi is saying that the judge took the lawers off the case, not that they quit because they wanted to. Did someone have a little "girl talk" with Judge Fran Gull?

I suppose this could be in response to the leaked crime scene info, but I am still highly suspicious of the whole mess.

If the killer did it for Odin, they did a shitty job. Odin likes his sacrifices hung from trees. That’s like his whole schtick.

More shit going on in this case but I can't pay attention right now.

The judge also wagged a finger and (paraphrased) said that because SOME people can't be trusted not to film or leak stuff, then NOBODY gets to play with recordings in the courtroom on October 31.

I know lawyers and judges are exempt from law but can we please get at least a few adults in here? Or at least some folk who aren't hiding shit?

This case gets stranger and stranger.

So am I reading between the lines appropriately here - is the judge kinda accusing the former counsel of leaking the photos? Or at least being loose with the sealed evidence, resulting in the leak?

But if it's that simple, why would they take it to a higher court? Sorry I actually read the thing now, I had just assumed it would be about that judge just removing his counsel, but it's about how literally everything is sealed. I am in agreement on that front; it is not really cool to have someone accused of double homicide without letting people see into the process of their conviction

Ruddy mysterious, the whole thing.

Trial pushed back until October of next year. I hope Richard Allen is guilty of something, since he's likely to be in jail for all that time... I wonder if the police are still looking for any accomplices or if they're hanging all their hopes of a closed case on this one guy. Nah, I don't really wonder.
