DELPHI, Ind. (WLS) -- Indiana State Police are expected to release more details Monday morning about an arrest in the 2017 murder of two girls in Delphi

Police are expected to name the suspect during a news conference in Delphi at 9 a.m. Central Time.

Residents told ABC7 they've interacted with the suspect multiple times and said the individual reportedly worked at a local pharmacy.

Sources tell ABC's Indianapolis affiliate a person has been arrested in connection with the murders.

"The state police never really discussed details on what was found at the scene, but the belief all along is that there was at least some sort of genetic material," Brad Garrett, ABC News contributor and former FBI agent. "Clearly they have something that links him to the crime."

The case has been shrouded in mystery since February 2017 when 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German seemingly disappeared after going for a hike. Their bodies were found the next day.

"How did this come to light almost five years after this crime was committed?" Garret said. "Something broke in recent days, at least to the point that it gave them enough probable cause and evidence to arrest this new person."

The girls' killer was able to avoid capture, even with thousands of tips coming in to police and despite one of the teens, Libby, taking this grainy video the day of their disappearance showing a man walking towards the girls.

Authorities have said he may be the killer. Libby also captured a chilling recording, thought to be the man's voice.

Libby's family reacted to the update expected later Monday. Her sister Kelsi tweeted, "just know how grateful I am for all of you."

Just know how grateful I am for all of you. No comments for now, any questions please refer to the Carroll county prosecutors office. There is tentatively a press conference Monday at 10am. We will say more then. Today is the day%uD83D%uDC9C

I hope Richard Allen is guilty of something, since he's likely to be in jail for all that time... I wonder if the police are still looking for any accomplices or if they're hanging all their hopes of a closed case on this one guy. Nah, I don't really wonder.
Just reading up on the clusterfuck of updates it seems like this is shaping up to be a railroading from the judge. Forgive the reddit source but it seems this kind of conduct isn't new. (Archive) You would think with SC forcing these issues to be addressed she would hold off. If it's a favorable ruling she loses nothing but time. If it isn't favorable, she's effectively digging an even deeper hole. It either seals the deal on her being removed from the case or opens up a lot of issues to raise on appeal that would call any guilty verdict into question. Even if she tries to address these things going forward, you can point to all of her behavior up to now as evidence she's working backwards from the conclusion she wants. Thanks for the link to a practicing attorney, he seems both sober and knowledgeable!

As much as I would like for this case to go through normal procedures, with law professionals doing their jobs well, I think it might have to be for the public and reporters to watch this mess with hawk eyes, and loudly call out any and all bullshit. The professionals can't be trusted to do the right thing for it's own sake.

I think George R R Martin is credited with the quote "When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say."

Seems perfect for this case.

Can somebody explain this to me why is this crazy?
Judges simply can't remove a defendant's lawyers without extreme cause, and never without a hearing.

Also, the court entered a ruling already, the lawyers are back in.

Edit for non-Americans: Defense lawyers fight the government, a judge is part of the government, it's abhorrent for the government to be able to just remove defenders from the accused at will.

You may as well just get rid of the right to a trial if that crazy shit is allowed.

I think the cult stuff is retarded it sounds like typical desperate cope from defense attorneys to create reasonable doubt in the minds of the (eventual) jury. This is like when Casey Anthony's attorney accused her dad of doing it or whatever that was. That jury of tards bought it.

Innyhoo

I think he covered the bodies with sticks and shit to try and hide them but gave up, either because there wasn't enough shit around to sufficiently cover them, or because he just felt he had to jet out of there so he stopped at just a few sticks.

The Odinism feels real to me. Not sure what it will mean for the case, but it's like seeing gang signs spray painted all over a crime scene, it'd be stupid not to at least look into it.

Judge vs Lawyers, round 1 - fight!

Lawyers say the cops got a search warrant under false pretense, judge says tough shit, the evidence collected from Richard Allen's house stays.
