I really love the Doge emote and would love to see that one implemented.
There used to be a Nice Meme rating on one of the subforums that used Doge as an icon, but it's either been removed or I'm misremembering where it was.
I'm glad you like the icon - I had to go through a lot of iterations before I got to one that looked decent. All the other Doge vectors that I searched to use as reference looked truly awful so I had to work out how to construct it through basic shapes myself (without the file size becoming enormous).
I seriously think that it's the nicest Doge vector on the internet, if I do say so myself.
Only the smile emoji comes close to being as hard to make, and the difficulty there was mostly having to look at T.J. Church's filthy mouth up close for hours without vomiting.

It's up to Null whether new emotes get added. I'm not sure whether he's open to the idea, but if he is I'll make some.

Hopefully we get emotes that serve the purpose of reducing useless posts instead of pages of largely unused emotes.

Eh, JoyPixel's is a mixed bag for me: some of their emojis look really good and some look awful. I don't think that they're bad overall, though.
The thing is though that they don't really have a single art style to copy.

There's stuff like this (which looks pretty nice IMO):

But then there's stuff like this:

I dunno I think that guy works well for rating something gay.

what the actual fuck is this?

An emote for "X" as in "X to doubt" would be cool.
It's just a white noise post to say "I don't believe you." but sometimes, that's really all there is to say. Rating a post Doubt and leaving it at that has been something I've wished I could do several times.

Having a Press

to Doubt rating would be nice, but it would need a thumb or something to stand out from the :disagree: .

Isn't that what Optimistic is used for sometimes? For posts where the user is clearly making shit up or telling lies?

Isn't thunk-provoking used for that? That's what I've used it for.

I haven't gotten that impression at all. Optimistic's message seems to pretty universally be "You're kidding yourself", not "Oh fuck you, you just made that shit up."
I also use it for, well, when a user is being overly optimistic, like when making predictions about the outcomes of certain events. From 'yeah, that's never going to happen' to 'that's a preferred outcome, but I don't think it's likely'.

The only real confusion I get with ratings is that sometimes they're directed at the poster, and sometimes they're directed at the content the poster has reposted from elsewhere. Again, if they mattered, this would be an issue as some of the more informative, well-researched Kiwis would be getting negrates for exposing depravity, and often just photos of a lolcow. But again, ratings don't really matter so it's not a big deal.

I think Like should be green and Dislike red.

(so it may be easier to tell them apart)
We changed the colours a little while back (but to blue and a distinct shade of red) so that they don't look the same. So it should be easier to tell them apart.

So this is the icon set:

So, if everyone's happy with these, I'll forward them to Null. Feel free to make some suggestions if you don't like them, I'll wait for some feedback in this thread before I send them.

I've only got a couple minor gripes. Biggest one is that a lot of people don't recognize the scouter for powerleveling. Admittedly I'd prefer a redesign of it but that's more work. Also the DRINK! colour should be lightened to look like an actual martini or whatever (Maybe even add a toothpick+olive or something?).
The teeth on the deviant smile also meld into the gums and look really undefined.

Wish I could help instead of just critiquing but after moving away from the pixel icons there's not really much I can do.
