"Post your Art" Thread

I'm the master of procastination, so have an update on those Wind Waker designs, months after I posted the sketches.

Quick doodle of a short story protag so my descriptions would be more consistent. She isn't Tumblr vitiligo, she's dying and necrotic. I was trying to show burns/early radiation poisoning, but I'm a writer, not an artist. :)

I had spinal surgery after a horrid injury, but I picked up drawing again. I finally got my pc upgraded and software installed back onto it.

I'm hoping to get rolling again. I just need time now lol

Prismacolor premier pencils on brown, textured shipping paper. Crappy cellphone photo, sorry.

A character design thing where we were given descriptions of the Shrike from Dan Simmons' Hyperion (which I have never read, mind you) and asked to draw it based on the descriptions alone.

It's a bit messy, but have this (and if any Kiwis have read Hyperion, tell me if I'm not too far off o/)

Needs many more spikes. Otherwise decent.

Something I just drew. Not super satisfied with the leaves. ~2 1/2 hours

I'm pretty new to digital art, so I'm really curious, do you draw freehand or use curves or something to achieve such a smooth profile?

Hi there! I draw the inklines completely by hand, and don't use any digital tools, except for colouring.

Inking takes patience, practice and control. I consider myself a newb compared to artists like this guy...

This was drawn by a good friend of mine, Colin Barr...His skill level is truly great.

I both want context and don't want it at the same time.

Like this is absolutely gorgeous and I love it but I'm just staring and trying to imagine the context and it's fucking wild.
Kudos to Colin Barr though o/ this is amazing

The tale behind it is sad - The kid is Steven Shepherd, who was beaten by thugs and died in a strawberry field in Lancashire, 1967.
Colin was also bullied during the same 1960s era, so he dedicated the artwork to the memory of this poor forgotten lad...

I had the idea it had a sad meaning but I wasn't expecting something that sad :/
Still absolutely incredible, though

Thank you for the info! And that image really is quite stunning and emotive.

That is such a bitter-sweet post. Amazing talent, but a lot of sadness. Most of my artwork is a coping mechanism as well as a passion. So i get it. That's some heavy feels. This reminds me of Bernie Wrighton, one of many of my favourite artists. He passed away recently. I absolutely loved his work for Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (my all time favourite tale)

I have some older digital art that I've done. I can't wait to get drawing and update these old things. I had just starting learning to draw digitally.

And this is in Adobe illustrator. One of my test art. I had just learned the basics.

TrumPen is such a misunderstood ship :(

That bullshit aside, have a wonky bad anatomy+shitty lineart drawing of these two since lolitic shipping is apparently a thing. :autism: as fuck but it was a failed practice at drawing older-looking people (and I've obviously failed at that lmfao) o/
