Diseased r/popping and related pimple communities

Disgust is one of the most important emotions in the history of human evolution.

To see an irritation successfully getting removed from the body can be a relief to some people, so pimple popping is like
one of the borderline degenerate guilty pleasures that is still socially accepted to some degree.
I personally don't feel like watching this kind of content brings me some pleasure of any kind, but i can understand the
fascination some people may have about it.

It's starting to get problematic when you ignore the specialists advice "Don't try this at home, kids".
Like in every community, there are some hardliners who always keep exaggerating, claiming to be experts while mutilating themselves in their unhealthy passion.

Since we're living in a society of following the newest trends, the step from "Monkey sees" to "Monkey does" is merely a matter of time.

i know exactly the kind of content that belongs in a thread like this
like, this is way worse than the pimple popping and abscess draining that goes on in OP. do not watch this if you are squeamish.
the entire channel is full of videos like that, honestly the most disgusting shit i've ever seen on the internet
That guy is actually super cool. Mango flies will kill a puppy pretty quickly, and he's one of the few people who seems to actually give a shit enough to try and save them. God bless you based black man.

When I was a teenager, my girlfriend at the time was. I'd be laying there, or sitting on the couch watching television, and she'd pop every blackhead on my face and keep them on the end of her fingernail and show me all the crap she got out afterwards. It didn't bother me because she had such a gentle touch, she'd never leave a mark. I guess that's part of where I get it from.
My wife does this, except she digs her nails in as hard as she can and seems to enjoy the pain she causes me. But, fucking heaven forbid I go for one of hers, she screams bloody murder no matter how gentle I am about it.

Knowing that this is video was taken from a vet clinic in Africa makes this video make sense. I feel sorry for the dog.
Here's another from Africa. Ever wanted to see a dog that is more worm than dog? No? Too bad.
Found another.

I’m not gonna lie, I find most of the videos in r/popping to be pretty satisfying, even if they’re extremely gross. I’ve always enjoyed popping blackheads/pimples/whatever.

However, this video is stomach wrenching, probably one of the gnarliest things I’ve ever laid my eyes upon. I feel so bad for that poor dog. I bet he feels a whole lot better after the removal. Although it’s nice they helped out the dog, I sure hope they aren’t “professional” vets. I had to lol at the fact that the nogs weren’t even wearing gloves and you could see crushed bug slime all over their gowilla fingers. I bet they didn’t even give enough of a shit to give the dog a shower or wash their hands afterwards.

A few years ago I had a brutal infection in my thumb called a paronychia. My thumb swelled up so bad that the area literally doubled in size, and my thumb around my nail turned yellow and purple. The pain from it was unbelievably bad to the point that I had to miss a couple days of work. Any tiny bit of pressure on my thumb would cause me to squirm like a bitch.

Eventually the throbbing would wake me up in the middle of the night. I read that if paronychias get bad enough, the infection can get into your bloodstream and lead to amputations being required. Since I was poor I decided not to go to the doctor to get antibiotics and have it drained. When I finally decided to drain it, there was an insane amount of puss that came out and it felt so relieving. I had to drain it a few more times afterwards as well, and a few weeks later, my thumb nail fell off and took half a year to grow back. That was the only time I was truly bothered by that kind of thing.

that looks like the infection and pus is under the nail itself, how the hell do you even drain that?

that channel was a foreign vet (i think from germany) who operated the vet clinic in gambia for a while, but a couple years ago he lost hope and left
in many of his later videos you can hear his growing desperation and frustration with the locals, he talks about how these maggot infestations happen because dogs are locked in tiny cages or boxes outside, so they are forced to lie on the same spot on the ground for hours at a time and that's how so many maggots get to them. and basically the people there never learn and keep treating their dogs like dirt, so he kept getting maggot infested dogs in his practice on a daily basis, and many of them die because they come in way too late. real depressing channel overall.

This stuff is pretty gross but I have my doubts about whether this community has genuine lolcows in it. Others have already said this so I'm just posting to share my story.
When I was 14 I went to a summer camp. I'd recently recovered from a very serious infection and when I got another one which manifested as a huge pimple on my knee, I thought it best to nip it in the bud and seek medical attention. There I was, in a hospital room with a camp counselor and a crazy nurse. She took incredible delight in popping that thing, literally screaming out in pleasure. She told me that duties like this were why she loved her job. Given my age it was pretty creepy how forward she was being with regard to her proclamations of pleasure. I could only glance between her and the counselor who was baffled and looked like he was considering whether to intervene.

So maybe some of these people are cows. There's certainly no shortage of content but how much can you really say about it? Time will tell.

Good fucking God the plier video. Couldn't even bring myself to watch it, just had to skip around to see all of it. Scarred for life, so uhhhhh good job OP?

Well that's depressing, but also not that surprising either. There are videos of people digging out chigger eggs from feet and hands, and the main guy doing it is a native African, and you can hear it in his voice as well. "These stupid motherfuckers won't listen to what I say, so why am I bothering to help them?"

Do podiatry YouTube channels belong in here as well, or should they be grouped with livestock hoof trimming channels?

The Toe Bro content is R rated as fuck. That guy is a fucking maniac. This isn’t even one of the worst videos on there. Please do not be eating whilst you watch it.

My dad's a carpenter and has had a rather substantial number of under-the-nail issues, blood blisters, etc. His strat is to take a paperclip, heat it up, and use that to melt a small hole in the nail to let pressure out. Usually that resolves the issue without nail loss.

My only experience with this was the time the wart removal cream and sticky paper wasn't working with a wart on my toe, so I used a pair of scissors and tweezers to remove it. Other wise I just picked off any pimples on my face and then used isopropyl alcohol + cotton ball to clean out the spot.

All I had to do was poke the swollen area in multiple places using a heated needle. That allowed all of the liquid even under the nail to drain.

I will confess to being one of Doctor Lee's followers. "Operation: Kill George" is a seminal work in pimple popping history.

I honestly think pimple popping is so popular is because it hooks into the monkey bit in the base of our brain stem, the place where the instinctual compulsion to groom each other is kept. Our monkey ancestors picked bugs off each other, we pick pimples.
