racing games - no not racist games you fucking ni

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
If they will give us modding tools and the ability to finally finish this game for the devs, it will unironically be bigger news than anything the current games have going for them. Slop goes in, slop goes out, but THE RIG is eternal.
Wouldn't you need the source code to do that? I'm guessing the company that made the "game" is still around since it has a Steam release. Stellar Stone, that's it. Some offshore Russian-Ukraine developer that made games on the cheap before shuttering in 2006. I guess GameMill still owns the rights to Big Rigs.

Edit: actually, a Margarite Entertainment (A) bought the rights to Big Rigs, along with other "classic" titles. Okay, you learn something new every day.

2025's Tokyo Xtreme Racer now has a Photo Mode, more customization with the stickers, adjustment of tire width, more bug fixes, and most importantly for those wanting a challenge or for the dedicated sim racer builds: a fully functional manual clutch.

Rejoice for those of you who use three pedals in this game!

Too bad no one is thinking of doing something like DTM Race Driver 2

A racing game where you can make your own career (in that game you still end up in certain series so my ideal game would be a more "open career" game. Heck make us roleplay as a fucking pay drvier for once)

Hamilton remains to be a big deal in the sport so you're not going to get rid of him anytime soon. Even saying that, it's still an EA 2k sports title so it's going to be mid to downright shit by the default of these AAA titles.

I'm just glad that the AA and indie scene are getting real creative with their games meanwhile Playground, EA, Polyphony, and a few other notable names are actively stagnating with each new entry.

I've never played the original GRiD titles, so I cannot say what GRiD is actually about. From the six hours I've played of GRID (2019) before it was delisted, as barebones as it is on the surface, the simplicity of stock car track racing stood out to me. No fine-tuning, no car builds, no forced narrative, just race through the same tracks with the same classes of cars.

I only played the original GRiD, but what I really liked about that game was the career mode where you start at nothing racing for other teams before you get enough money to buy your own shitbox and start your own team, managing cars, teammates, and sponsers.

So, you could build your own team and have sponsor logos of your choice plastered on your cars? Would YOU yourself still have to win or would your team contribute to your winnings too?

I considered buying the Ultimate Edition of 2019, but $50 is a steep price and I don't know if the DLC is included on disc or in a time sensitive code.

IIRC, your teammate contributes to winnings. Also sponsers have requirements in order to payout so if you and your teammate both fulfill the requirement you get to double dip.

The YOU'RE WINNER truck racing game releases on Steam on April 8:

The marketing implies that extra stuff is being added, but it's probably going to be just the same game. The bigger oopsie is that there's a Google link to a ZIP file in the video's description that not only has the trailer in video form, but it also has a DMCA takedown document, banking information, and other random stuff in Chinese that was included by mistake:

This one and Nascar Thunder 2004 had some really fun career modes. Nascar with the "build up your team from the ground" is still great, even if Nascar is boring as hell. It's a shame that fun race games with career modes died out. F1 is just boring, because the tracks are boring compared to the old tracks of the 50's to 90's.

Also obligatory: I really need a Fatal Racing 2 in my lifetime. That is still the most fun racing game of all time. Insane tracks and car carnage galore.
