His isolation is causing him to lose his grip pretty hard, he's losing himself with these fantasies... Do people in isolation in prisons or psychiatric facilities behave in a similar way after left alone for a time?
I've read a POWs account of how he retreated into his own mind and built his dream house brick by brick, imagined himself building it in real time, as if going to work everyday.
Exactly, it's the isolation, not Schizophrenia or anything else like that. Schizophrenia tends to affect people in a very very different way.
It's still early doors, but I think Chris digs the Hyperneptunia franchise because it fulfills a lot of things for him and provides a ready-made rationale for a lot of his delusions.
ETA: Whenever he makes a video, any psychotic symptoms will be immediately identifiable.
So Chris finally found out about "headmates," eh? Guess he is learning something from Tumblr after all. Granted it's just another set of bad behaviours but hey, between Chris and Tumblr that's just par for the course. Guess he's confirmed for an Otakukin now. Could be worse I suppose, he could be gotten into more SJW gender bullshit.
Look, Chris isn't schizophrenic, and I doubt even the people who claim he is actually believe it. You'd know if that was the case. Chris may indeed be delusional. I personally think he does believe this shit on some level, but that doesn't make him schizophrenic. He's more like a weird autistic kid with little grasp on reality, which, coincidentally is pretty much exactly what he is. Chris is dumb, he hasn't dealt with the outside world much since high school, and he desperately WANTS to believe this crap. I am relatively sure he read something about "otherkin" or "headmates" and thought it sounded like a good idea, so now he's running with it. Just wait till he finds out about tulpas or chaos magick...
Most of his stuff, bizarre and extreme as it may be, is also relatively harmless. Sure he believes he can bend shit with his mind or that Magi-chan talks to him from another dimension or that he can curse people, but so what? What IS really scary is when he does shit like try carving a vagina into his crotch. THAT is far worse than any of his supernatural bullshit because that actually led to self-harm.
I think a lot of people (understandably) went back to the schizo thing because this is the 1st time he mentioned that his imaginary friends are interacting with inert objects at his home, or that he is taking them with him, outside the confines of his home. I think this proved to be a somewhat shocking revelation to us. Also the revelation that he seems to be basing purchasing decisions on those delusions is another doozy.
Again, having dealt with (temporarily) psychotic people before, Chris displays almost none of their symptoms, Schizos don't just see things, they have other symptoms as well, symptoms that would have been immediately noticed by the people around Chris @ that Pokemon tournament.
Is he getting (much) worse? Yes, but he is not a schizo, he is just a deeply isolated, autistic person. Although I concede that he may well have some identity disorder.
One thing I disagree with you on, is your belief that Chris isn't dangerous, while he is not the outright menace A-Logs denounce him to be, and he doesn't have dangerous intentions, the fact that he now converses and interacts with his imaginary friends outside the confines of his home means that he is now a danger to his fellow drivers on the road.
