Another factor, at least in my area, is the infrequency of those stores. Blockbusters were a dime a dozen for awhile. I see a place selling cards and whatnot once or twice per city/town.

Dear GodJesus, I hope our first annual CWCkiCon doesn't turn out this bad.snowkitten91 said:So, I was browsing YouTube for Sonichu stuff when I suddenly encountered this:

Has anyone else seen it?
One thing I'm mildly curious about is the nature of the "Would you fuck me 789-chan?" video - obviously it wasn't Chris idea, so what inspired you guys to instruct him to make that statement? The connection with The Silence of the Lambs is obvious, but why 789-chan? And how did you get Chris to agree to it?Marvin said:Yeah... I remember when that happened. That panel was a big joke for awhile.
We wanted to take a stab at 789chan people at the time. And just like anything else we've done with Chris, it's not that hard to get him to do them. We just tell Chris what to do and he does it.Christ-ian said:One thing I'm mildly curious about is the nature of the "Would you fuck me 789-chan?" video - obviously it wasn't Chris idea, so what inspired you guys to instruct him to make that statement? Heh, you'd think so, but you'd be wrong...Christ-ian said:Thank you for your reply!Marvin said:We wanted to take a stab at 789chan people at the time. And just like anything else we've done with Chris, it's not that hard to get him to do them. We just tell Chris what to do and he does it.
I guess some part of me thought he'd see the connection you wanted to make between the psychotic, mis-diagnosed transsexual from the movie and, well,, so I assumed he'd be particularly reluctant to go through with that video shoot, but maybe I'm just way of on one base or another.
That's actually pretty cool to hear!Marvin said:Heh, you'd think so, but you'd be wrong...
But yeah, if Chris questions something you want him to do, just make up some bullshit about how it's from your favorite movie or something. It was pretty easy to bullshit Chris into doing something back then.
Probably a bit harder nowadays, but not completely impossible. The hard part is getting in contact with Chris in the first place.

(I love that 2 dudes came to that panel reading in striped clown shirts)
I remember on Yuku and Cwcki.forumer, there were mentions of him buying vidya (if Charlottesville is anything like Eugene, good vidya gets donated fairly often), and it's documented somewhere on the CWCki that he bought a full season of some late 90s/early 00s "Beverly Hills 90210"-like show (I forget the name of the show), that had "All Discs Present" and "Was Very Good" or something to that effect.sparklemilhouse said:Other than clothes (I still think barb buys Chris his non tomgirl clothes at goodwill, like she chooses his clothes) has there been any documentation of Chris buying anything when he goes to the thrift store with Barb?

According to a June 02 sighting, he recently bought a defective $4.25 fan and blue-green jacket (for eight clams) with Barbie. (Yes at Goodwill)

This is assuming he's seen Silence of the Lambs or even knows anything about it. Which, considering what Chris knows about in terms of pop culture, I would doubt.

Nah. I think it's just the phallic nature of it that he doesn't like.
Also, I think he ate kimchi when he used to go to his Korean church lunches.
