It hit me today that Chris doesn't seem to have any real attachment to Halloween. Does this strike anyone else as odd? With all the things from his childhood he's held onto over the years, why not this one? Getting free candy for zero effort seems right up his alley as an adult. Was trick or treating not part of the Chandler experience growing up or does he recognize (for once) that it would be inappropriate for him to participate?

I think it had to do with Borb not wanting to have to supervise their little autist and have to deal with either Chris inevitably throwing a tard fit for not getting all the candy he wanted/not getting any candy from certain houses or having parents possible question them about their boy.

As for Chris not trick-or-treating now, well GAS IS EXPENSIVE, Chris is lazy and Barb won't let him out of the house.

I think it was in another thread the possibility that the neighborhoods Chris lived in probably didn't have many kids around, so trick-or-treating wouldn't yield much anyway.

Halloween would require Chris to have dozens of micro-relations with people in a single outing. Given his paranoia, his sensitivity to criticism, his impatience, his anger management issues, and his inability to interpret emotions, he would not be capable of trick-or-treating now, and much less capable as a child. Plus think of all those wasted hours when he could be playing video games.

With all of the trading card games he played, why did Chris never try his hand at Magic: The Gathering? Surely it was readily available at the PLACe, in fact I am pretty sure that I saw some promotional materials for the game in the pictures people took of him there. In any event, I'm not sure if I'm pissed off that he didn't see my game as good enough to ruin, or I'm relieved that something I love so much wasn't ruined. :?

Sometimes I wonder if Chris has watched "Catfish" or read anything about how to be more certain people he talks to online are genuine. I wonder if he knows that people are finding their SOs online more and more these days. I feel like if Chris were just more persistent about insisting the people (especially gal pals) he talks to online go on video, refusing after a certain time period to let the subject go ignored, a lot of his problems wouldn't exist in the first place. I feel like if he re-approached the internet with a clear set of rules, as autistic people tend to favor that kind of thing, he wouldn't have to come off as a paranoid simpleton when he demands "In Person Meetings Only; Online Socialization is Out".
