Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

No, you can definitely receive SSI and SSDI while homeless. I've met numerous homeless people who receive SSDI. A lot of homeless people die before they get SSI though, so it's mostly SSDI.

There is a restriction that if you live in a government-run homeless shelter you can only receive SSI for 9 months, but there is no such restriction on SSDI.
Given Chris' luck, after all this is over, he's going to be okay. Is he getting better? In my opinion: nope.

Wouldn't be able to cash it out, would be funny to watch tho, seeing him try and cash the check.
I figured that much. I'm just interested to see how he would react to being given what he wants while being addressed by his honest and true identity just to have the check refused. What mental gymnastics would he have to perform to make sense of it all?
Just sounds interesting

Given that this is the first time in his life he's actually getting managed care where he doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, instead of just mandated counseling and shit, I'm *slightly* hopeful.
How effective are those facilities in treating people like Chris? At this point he has a lot more going on than his 'high functioning autism'. I don't know if he'll ever return to even pre-2011 levels of sanity.

Will Chris even still want to live if he ever comprehends the full implications of his actions? Prior to the incest I was still somewhat hopeful that Chris could live out the rest of his life cashing in on his legendary status, doing commissions like Null was getting him to do. Now I don't see any way it could end well.

Very effective. He's being treated by professionals for the first time in his life.

For the last time people this isn't the seventies, this isn't one flew over the cuckoos nest. State hospitals are staffed by professionals with medical degrees.

Chris Is almost certainly going along with that though just to get it over with and go back to daydreaming about his imaginary world , Sonichu dimensions and Lego. That’s why all those that suggest therapy here and ponder whether it’ll help him are wasting their time. Therapy is not a perfect, genius insta cure that can rid you of your issues after a few talks with a Lucien Freud archetypal therapist. Things like therapy require enormous amounts of introspection , energy and effort on the part of the patient in order for it to work to any degree. Chris would never truly accept help because he believes he’s literally above every living being on earth and anyone’s advice is beneath him and labelled as a ‘troll’ ‘jerk male’ or ‘unbeliever’

I don’t think Chris will personally ever get true phycological help for his legitimate mental issues, perhaps for the rest of his life, you simply cannot help a person who refuses to be helped, has no theory of empathy or other minds, and refuses to look into themselves and never question their actions at all. Give up that ‘hope’ you’ll only waste it on Chris.

In that case, I'm optimistic that they will be able to restore some semblance of sanity to Chris, Chris's future prospects are probably still fucked regardless, but at least we might be able to get future content if he improves enough that they let him write letters again. Maybe he'll be bored enough that he'll start to draw again.

So, I had this random thought: is jail the most punishment Chris has ever faced? I mean real punishment, not anything a troll did to him, or he did to himself.
As far as we know, I think it is. Usually he just gets something like a stern talking to and a fine. Mind, the inconvenience of showing up to hearings and the annoyance of spending money on something other than lego might have felt like a punishment to Chris. But this is next level.

You were expecting Ralph to deliver on something that doesn't involve shoving pills and makers mark down his gullet?
I expect nothing.

Ralph's still in Portugal (I think) after getting beaten up. Even if he did want an interview with Chris while he was in jail, the jail wouldn't let him under instructions from Heilberg. He could interview Barb.
Some people thought he might interview Bella. Barb’s sister seems to be in charge of her affairs, so it’s unlikely.

Bella, like most people who come across Chris, has figured out to stay out of the limelight. Her glowie parents probably told her not to make any appearances on any media.

You know when Chris is released, his first stop is going to be 14 BLC. Being banned from a store is one thing, but being banned from your own home is pretty cathartic for someone like Chris. Of course Chris will never admit what he did was wrong. At this point, Barb already has the influence of her sister, and Harriet would be damned to allow the walking cyclone that is Chris to ruin everything she and her husband did. They like many other people would believe Chris would be capable of assaulting Barb again; they simply can't/don't trust him. It would be interesting to hear their take on Chris since they have had visits from him in the past.

Will Kingle from find Chris' facility before kiwis? Address and all

There are treatments for people who escape into delusions. Remember, Chris is not that unusual psychologically, he's just unusual in how much he exposed himself online.

The success rate is by no means promising, but it's at least possible. The biggest hurdle has finally been overcome though (just getting Chris into treatment).

but being banned from your own home is pretty cathartic for someone like Chris.

Catharsis is probably not something he felt.

That's pretty strange. I feel like it has to do with elitism and not wanting Chris on "their" site. Weird since it's against free speech and the latter. With how many people use wikipedia I can see why. Exposing Chris to a wider audience to them is something they don't want for a myriad of reasons.

I found the relevant Wikipedia discussion for your perusal, there are links in the thread to previous discussions on this as well.
