Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I believe this is the correct sequence of events:

- Chris decides to start a Nuzlocke challenge. CWCki is largely unimpressed. Resident Pokefans explain why Chris is cheating by day Two.

- Early January Chris manages to gut 14 BLC by using a Keurig (yes, they had a $100+ coffee machine) that was jerry-rigged to an outlet in their bathroom.

- CWCki has a crisis of conscience and is torn about whether to to help Chris in his time of need or not. In the end, the CWCki collects a bit over a grand (number of pounds) worth of food, care supplies, gift cards, and a money order.

- Chris actually, genuinely, thanks people. there was also a few earthquakes that day in the southern hemisphere. CWCki agents are still looking into it to see if the two incidents are connected.

- In standard Chandler fashion, Charb make a bad situation worse by getting in verbal arguments with their insurance company, accuse firefighters of stealing (more than likely) false items, and generally being ungrateful towards any organization that might be trying to assist them.

-Meanwhile in Chris-Land, it appears despite having his house burnt down and now living in a rental (address undisclosed to avoid epic weenery), it appears he is still able to buy multiple copies of vidya, mostly for the minifigs, and buy more Lego sets to rebuild his dream high school. However, it was told by reputable sources to Marvin and backed up by Kim that Chris was caught shoplifting at a Best Buy. So far as we know though, they let him off with a finger wagging.

- Skyraider, who is totally not Rob Bell or the angry spirit of Petti-Chan, has sent in photos of the old Chandler estate, where Charb are busily stuffing their worthless shit into Bob's old greenhouse for safe keeping, and their new rental is already beginning to look overgrown and adorned with ugly, sun-bleached yard furniture.

- CWCki wise, there's been some kind of surge of interest towards some other lolcow that apparently warrants their own subforum alone. I dunno, ask around about that. Also, the Sonichu thread is happy to be the home of a couple new Sonichu-inspired fancomics and the return of the CWC Adult Chronicles.

- We also installed a gazebo in the backyard (it's really to hide the bodies, but don't tell anybody).

We did. I believe we managed to raise about $1000 for the Chandlers.

$1000 in gift cards I think, so that he wouldn't piss away his money on junk food and vidya.

He also tried sardines for the first time and enjoyed them. Were still unsure of the damage done to Chris' room, but it isn't looking good.

Yeah, it hasn't been verified, but it's a pretty safe bet the original hard-drawn copies of Sonichu are gone, as well as a good deal of the Relics of Fail, including the Wall of Originals, the Gitar, and the Sailor Moon poster that guarded his straightness. Hell, even Julay is probably now a molten piece of vinyl and ash now.

Oh, but of course, his Ps3 and WiiU are fine. Of course.

How has his autism benefitted him? I can't seem to think of ways it has, the way Bill Gates, Einstein, or JFK were beneffitted by theirs..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrospective_diagnoses_of_autism

Journalists, academics and autism professionals have speculated that certain famous or notable historical people had autism or other autism spectrum disorders such as Asperger syndrome. Such speculation is controversial and little of it is undisputed. For example, several autism researchers speculate that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had autism or other conditions, while other researchers say there is not sufficient evidence to draw such conclusions

Michael Fitzgerald of the Department of Child Psychiatry at Trinity College, Dublin has written numerous books and articles on the subject, identifying over 30 individuals as possibly having AS.[5][6][7][8] Ioan James is British mathematician who, in 2005, published Asperger's Syndrome And High Achievement: Some Very Remarkable People, identifying a number of historic figures as autism candidates.[9]

Speculation of this sort is, by necessity, based on reported behavior and anecdotal evidence rather than any clinical observation of the individual, and as such, is often controversial. Psychologist and author Oliver Sacks wrote that many of these claims seem "very thin at best",[10] and Fred Volkmar, of the Yale Child Study Center, has remarked that "there is unfortunately a sort of cottage industry of finding that everyone has Asperger's".[11] Michael Fitzgerald's research, in particular, has been heavily criticised, and described by some as "fudged pseudoscience"[12] and "frankly absurd".http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrospective_diagnoses_of_autism#cite_note-13

Ive heard some people say JFK had a bit of autism though....
I mean he was very obsessive, and had a special interest in women much younger than himself. He was obsessed over all these women (except Jackie) the same way someone with autism would be obsessed over trains or pokemon.
He was sort of socially awkward, as evidenced at his meeting with Krushchev. He also had some social anxiety...
Lol, I dont think JFK was autistic at all. I agree with Alan Pardews post. A lot of people do use my approach to "prove" dead people had autism though.

You really can't compare Chris' autism to Bill Gates' or Einstein's (theoretical) autism because if they did have autism it's one hell of a lot less severe than Chris'. You just can't compare two separate levels of it.

Sonichu entertains the troops in Afghanistan.

You know, if we dropped hundreds of copies of Sonichu over Afghanistan, we could probably destroy the Taliban. That probably violates the Geneva Convention though.

This really says more about our times than anything about historical figures. It's pathologizing eccentricity and "abnormality", something we've become very adept at.

People who were bona fide geniuses and broke with conventional thought often had (and have) unusual habits. Film at 11.

It's also the idea that if you are looking for a specific thing, you will interpret anything as evidence of what you are looking for. Kind of like the 23 enigma. Of course you're going to find that everything correlates to the number 23, you are only looking at the things that will support you're theories.

How do you suppose these soldiers would react if they ever got wind of things like the Twin Falling Towers video or Chris's opinion on the old DADT rule?

Um... well I guess I'm glad for the opportunity to go die in explosions if it means defending the constitution. Without the constitution we would not have freedom of speech which lets us have political freedom and things like Sonichu.

The Twin Towers video is as unfortunate as most of his videos. It isn't his low point, though.
