Artcow rcdart / Rory Cummings-Dise - Tranny Fetishist who Torpedoed a Potential Animation Career

Animation studios may not want to hire Rory already because of her lousy work ethic, as demonstrated by the Strawberry animation and various other previous assignments. That she’s an antisocial self-congratulatory putz wouldn’t help, of course, but she has very little to offer professionally in the first place. They’d put her portfolio aside and look at more promising animators before they even get to consider her personality.

Just watch, she's going to get a cushy job working on a cartoon that we all hate but becomes inexplicably popular and we're all going to be grinding our teeth over it.

one of my closest friends has done calarts programs multiple times and she’s told me that mostly everyone likes and gets along with rory when the subject of them arises- she herself has also told me she thinks rory seems nice so, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i dont know what i think really. i trust my pal’s judgment. perhaps they’ve turned a new leaf? she thinks rory is a victim though. that, i’m not so sure of.
This frustrates me to no end, as many of the upperclassmen found them to be a nuisance, as well as several people in her year. I have seen her conversing and interacting with other students later in the year, though.
I have mild sympathy for Rory, but only so much as her actions have not reflected any sort of self-analysis from the drama she caused.

I think this might be more indicative that Rory might not talk all that much, or at least isn't as extroverted in person so her bitchiness isn't as obvious as it is online. Art students in my experience are already pretty socially awkward, so if they aren't up to date on her social media and she mostly takes the sidelines in conversations, her peers would label her "nice" despite the fact that she hasn't really given them much of an impression. If they ever have to coordinate through digital communication I'm sure that would be a different story however.
After Thundercats Roar drama there was those (un)famous quotes from animators that you are out of industry after critisizing Roar show and being rude on social media.
While I agree quotes in exaple are very rude, I also think blacklisting somebody because that person (especially student) said something stupid on Twitter is too much.

But it reminded me about Rory and her absence. If so little is enough to be blackmailed from US animation industry is she already out?
I doubt Rory would get blacklisted from Twitter over her attitude alone considering so many of these so called "professionals" have been shown to be just as cunty on several occasions towards their own fans or "problematic" peers that this quote is obviously more a "tow the party line and tell me (and my shitty art) that I'm pretty or else" than any real pretense towards professional standards.

A more likely reason for Rory to end up having trouble breaking in to animation is if she can't meet deadlines or someone on the grapevine heard about the SW art and concluded she's racist... Though even then she might fit right in with the Steven Universe development team considering the number of racism controversies they've had.

Thanks man you're a life saver. That said I'll contribute more of Strawberry.
Strawberry trying to act black.

View attachment 335234 View attachment 335233 Protip Rory: They probably thought they were hot at first glance because big ol tiddies and didn't actually get a good look at it yet. Or better yet this interaction didn't happen.
She looks like she has cankles.

Well thakns to your late observation my eyes have melted at the sight of retarded Jasper.

God, it's like if an epileptic tried to draw Steven Universe fan art during a rave.

Remember, if Rory can get into and stay in CalArts with art like this, anyone can get into any college they want.

I never thought the reason I'd finally make an account here would be to revive the RCDart thread, but here we are.

The Strawberry video is finally upon us: https://vimeo.com/266200432

I know I'm late to the party, but I mean, as I see it, although the animation was pretty lazy and looked more like slightly moving pictures more than an animation, it visually wasn't the worst. (Also, as others have said, the music is nice.) What made it the worst, was the storyline.
It doesn't have an idea it wants to convey. Why is she a wrestler? What purpose does her strength play in the story? What is this hot mess even about?? I thought of a quick fix in like, under a minute:

It centres on the idea that no matter how strong you are, if you don't have financial power in a marriage you lose control of your life. (I know, I'm no fun at parties, but first thing I thought of to add meaning to why her primary trait is strength, and why his primary trait is money.)
Keeping the first wrestling sequence + seeing Mr Moneybags for the first time the same (although his design would be less sympathetic if he had a weedy and tall snobby gentleman look? If you used a thin inverted triangle silhouette and angular lines it would create a nice contrast with Strawberry's design).
Except the money montage ends with them in a jewelry shop and him buying a gold choker for her and putting it around her neck and it as it snaps shut, so it likens to a collar or something, and cut to a depressing scene where she's in some dark squalid kitchen washing the dishes or something. The /this isn't what I wanted/. And then do the shadow thing except instead of the tiger it's an enlarged shadow of him from another room, asking her when she'll finish up or something. But instead she packs up and leaves (and abandons her new expensive possessions and takes her old ones, not the other way around. Except the tiger. That's ok. Lol.) And then the same scene at the end with /this isn't what I wanted....but it's better/. The open scenery and sky help convey her new freedom.
Now she doesn't look like a massive cunt for leaving him and the story has a purpose??? Magic.

Amazing! She actually looks androgynous now!
I mean, it may be in the same way as your elderly neighbor who can no longer wash her own hair....but at least it's not bootleg Sugar. It's a start.

Saw the bump, hoped for a return.
Seriously, has she completely fallen off the face of the internet?

I still can only hope that the experience with her Star Wars fan art was the thing that finally knocked her ego back down to size and she's been trying to learn humility. Or the experience shook her that badly (as it should have) and she's petrified to put her stuff back out on the internet, because she knows the microscope will be back on her and everything she does can/will have the potential to be ripped to shreds again.

But OTOH, I'm kinda sad that two of my three artcows that I love to mock have pretty much faded into obscurity (Thumbcramps and Rory). Oh well, at least I still have Holly C. Brown's threads on /snow/ to fill the void of "insufferable cunty artist with a specific objectifying fetish who has a shitty art style and constantly puts their feet in their mouth" that Rory and Paige have left behind.

She looks like that antisocial Asian kid in high school.

Yeah, Holly B's pretty lulzy from what I gather of her. Does she have a thread here?(/snow/ is great but the imageboard format irks me)

Woof...

I was still toying with the idea of making an account when this thread was super active, but never got around to it. In a way, I'm glad she seems to have learned her lesson, but at the same time it seems like if all that bombast on her part could have been obliterated for just calling her out on one little thing, it was probably covering some pretty huge insecurities. I hope she addresses them and works on building a more realistic basis for self esteem instead of developing a victim complex. And I hope her art gets better.

Whether or not she really takes this to heart and stops being such a turd or is cowing out again in a few months, it's a win for me, so cheers, Rory.
