When you click on a comment with the Reddit Enhancement Suite extension installed, it numbers every link in the comment in square brackets after the link. There's also no asterisk after the timestamp, which means that the comment wasn't edited. RES is definitely installed because the selected comment is blue and there is a save-RES link below the comment.

The reason why cities are so bad isn’t even the obvious drugs and homeless, if you’ve interacted with them you know they are basically feral humans and have little control over their own actions. But these faggot liberals making every excuse, blaming nahtzees instead of the democrats ruining everything. Things never get better because the people who could make a difference just buy into propaganda and ask for seconds.

Honestly, one of the things that really ruined post 2019 was the infusion of politics into any subreddits. I remember someone sending me a screenshot of r/doom and the top of the page was a George Floyd reference. The gun subreddits went to shit for the same reason, which is ironic. It went from only talking about guns and gun control to people unironically talking about ousting "racists" from the community. Some moron even tried to pull an r/antiwork on a gun company and they ate it up until he got busted for lying.

It's been there since ~2016 but was creeping before. It has only become more blatant and obvious in recent years. The frontpage is obviously curated, there's no way weird subs like WitchesVsPatriarchy just springs up organically overnight.
