Yup.. The most telling part, aside from the fact that all the supporters tend to be first time posters on the threads calling for bans, is that on the subs (like r/lego) that have resisted/ignored, nothing has changed, the regulars are still posting, no drop in activity and the shills have moved on. Nothing says organic demand like the issue getting dropped the moment outsiders give up.

"Y'all" is actually a goated word though, let's be honest. It's gender inclusive but not in a gay way and it makes a lot more sense to use in natural conversations. There is a lot of corporate/reddit language that I absolutely can't stand and avoid at all costs but I don't consider that word one of them.

I was watching ants one day, and I was thinking about how they all work with one goal.

But no one knows what other ants are doing. No one knows the bigger picture, but it happens.

Bees are the same way. They need a common instruction set. They need it simple. And years ago I had the idea to create a national protest. With a simple, self replicating instruction set. Something that organizes everyone, regardless of their state, and their location. Something hashtagable.

And as I've been watching everyone trying to find people to organize with, in their state, etc - I see people floundering and struggling, and feeling hopeless. #50501 solves that! What state are you in? It DOESN'T MATTER! YOUR State Capitol Building!

And I had the idea of #50501.

50 Protests! 50 States! 1 Day!

Twelve words that can organize a nation.

When you tell someone else, it doesn't matter where they are, they know when and where to go.

It's simple. It's easily transferable. It doesn't need anyone to organize backwards to the original idea creator- everyone can organize Forward!

Just spread the idea far. And wide. If this works, I could never make another post and #50501 can be the biggest day of protest the WORLD has ever seen.

This will be the start of a revolution!

Looking at the numbers, I doubt this will amount to anything more than a hand-full of neckbeards and troons seething outside of view (likely left-leaning) state capitals.

I've always held that it's clear hypocrisy but the same people will explain stone faced that "it's not actually cultural approprion because white people don't have culture anyway, bigot."

The OP arnaud267 does not even actively post in the LEGO subreddit. The person just showed up and said "we" like they belong there. If you bother to dig through their post history, it's all political subreddits, including an 18-day-old post about how the UK should ban twitter. To me that sounds like this "ban twitter" campaign has been floating around in someone's head for a while now, and now they're pushing for it.

And if it's not an arnaud267 being an active political poster, it's other accounts that are brand new making similar threads calling for the ban, all while ban announcements consistently have lower approval (between 50-75% upvotes) than top posts are usually used to getting.

Would bet money it's the same jannies that are always responsible for all of reddit's political "movements" having another episode where they think they're "fighting the good fight" and instead they're just manipulating the votes and engaging in censorship themselves. Dead internet theory is alive and well, because I can only guess the admins and owners put up with all of this because it at least presents the illusion the website gets far more traffic than it does.

Remember, the sub mods are the only ones who can see the details of posters and voters, and have tools to see activity. If they want, they can even let same ip bots spam the vote or thread. Or ignore more subtle things like outside posters and brigades. Which is another thing completely up to sub mods to enforce... the usual tactic to any prog virtue signal movement or issue.. the big political subs run freely over everything.. from single subject issues to single topics.. the 'no brigading' rules don't apply for the correct opinions. (not that it matters since just like with wrongsub based poster banning, the admins would need to actually do something even if/once reported) God help you if you've recently posted in a sub that's even mentioned the topic, if you have an incorrect opinion though.

This kind of thing exposes the issue with social media or non specific content forums in general. For fandoms, community control and official feedback. You have thousands if not millions more random people, with no connection with or love for something, registered on the same site.. Who's opinions count just as much as fans. Without even the most basic of controls/filters, like having to register. Sure, it won't keep out the shills and instigators, but it sure as hell will help protect against the normal believers and ignorant sheepish normie masses they so easily manipulate and NEED to astroturf as we see today in fandoms!

Reading the thread.. The regs are not happy, esp since creators exclusively use twitter. Bunch of bots and outsiders again confirmed by posters.

Many users have argued that facts cannot be racist, which is true. However, much of what is purported to be factual is actually twisted by inherent racism. For example, the assertion that black people commit more violent crime than white people is false: In fact, black people are arrested/convicted for violent crime more often than white people. The statistic does not represent a fact-based commentary on a racial proclivity; it represents a way in which systemic racism has unfairly maligned a historically marginalized portion of the population.

Furthermore, even objective facts can be presented in a manner that promotes (or is promoted by) a racist agenda. It may be factual to state that a given entertainer is Jewish, for instance, but if that point is being raised as a means of insinuating something anti-Semitic, it is nonetheless an example of bigotry. Dog-whistles, implied bigotry, and memetic phrases with bigoted subtexts are all forbidden in /r/Pics. Please note that there's a different between attacking a disparaged group who cannot change how they were born, and attacking memberships of groups (e.g. saying "ACAB" is not bigotry. Cops can quit, black people can't stop being black).

Civil criticism of religion, governments, and groups/organizations are fully permitted. Veiled attacks that are instead meant to target and attack a nation/race of people that practice these faiths, is forbidden.

Parents hate you because you won't let their baby who has never shown up for class in the entire quarter round their 2% up to a 100%. Boomers hate you because they read on Facebook that you're letting students come to school in fursuits and shit in litterboxes. Liberals don't care about you because the only activism they are capable of is making posts on X. Kids hate you because they just want to be on their phones all the time.
