Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

The Mass Effect games don't need a remaster. They don't look particularly good anymore, but that datedness lets you excuse the godawful character animations and lip syncing. Slapping new graphics on them will just make those issues even worse.

Its not homophobic. Shep heads down to the cellar to speak with Liara and the first thing Liara does is talk about how much the Asari like to fuck everything. That shit's disgusting. Liara's disgusting. The whole Asari race is disgusting. All xenos races must be purged to create a new, powerful and pure human empire.

Andromeda wasn't a great addition to the game, but for them to scrap it due to some butthurt trannies pissed me off.
I remember the first change came with one of the npc's saying how glad they were to be in the right gender. And the fucking SJWs got all in a tizzy because "no transgender would be that open to a stranger". In a fake ass future world where people are fucking single gender Asari... K seems legit. So they deleted that conversation.

When they changed the ending of 3 and give you a pure paragon ending. Wwhhhyyyy. What is so wrong with alluding to Shepherd being indoctrinated?

I did want to watch the elcor doing Hamlet.

They didn't scrap Andromeda because trannies complained, they scrapped Andromeda because it launched with more bugs than a literal pile of shit, looked terrible and off-putting, and did absolutely nothing to win back any goodwill towards the brand after ME3. You don't shutter a studio like Bioware Montreal after their first game because they angered the twitter crowd, you do that when it's become apparent that this group of people aren't up to the task of making a return on investment.

It was buggy, but it wasn't Skyrim level. I just remember internet people throwing a fit over some of the dialogue. You are right, the product did not meet the budget/supposed talent. I do need to consider that. I just loved the series and gave this one a chance and didn't hate it. Didn't love it either.

So I think the real question is is how does EA monetize this? We know damn well they will try so is it going to be cosmetics or worse?

As long as Mac Walters is at the helm, it would be shit. Instead of improving stuff, he'll just make sure ME1 will be changed to fit in with the garbage writing of the sequels. The dream would be a polished up ME1 and a complete redo of the story for 2&3, made by someone who isn't a JJ Abrams/Alex Kurtzman tier hack.

Every little bit of the trilogy better get remastered. However I cannot fathom how shitty looking the designs in Dragon Age became. The elves in particular got hit the worst with it.

I'm still mad at how the perfect ME2 team became a shitty rehash of the original in ME3. Kasumi deserved another playable appearance.

As someone who has had to deal with her New Vegas character one too many times: Felicia Day herself deserves a super-heated Saturnite Fist to the face. HOW'S THAT FOR PUNCHING, VERONICA?

Now, for a less angry rant, they better find Drew Karpyshyn and pay him whatever he wants to re-write ME2 and ME3. He was behind the codex entries in the first game that did a marvelous job of fleshing out the backstory and mankind's situation. A big thing he did was creating an actual logical reason why the humans are galactic standouts instead of just "lol humans" like most people would do.

and also undo the downgrades and change the gameplay of ME3, indeed there's no reason to buy the trilogy again. Mass Effect is dead, Bioware killed it. I hate to say that because I used to play the trilogy every year.
 
Imagine if they don't include the DLC? That would be super funny.

Earlier posts more or less sum this up well, but I think now that we're a bit deeper into COVID and know how its affecting the games industry in particular, projects like this make more and more sense. Who knows what the dev pipeline actually looks like, but there's probably very little new development needed to get this stuff up and running given backwards compat. was already in place (IIRC.) Outside of that it's just artists doing their thing, I assume.

I just stumbled upon a 360 copy of ME1 today and will probably tear through it again just for fun.

In my mind, this is them admitting that Anthem is fucking dead and has no hope of making a comeback. These feel pointless though, the games look fine. I am aware they have their issues, but thats what the games looked like at the time and I am something of a purist in those regards. EA will pump this shit out, it will sell well, people will say "this games are great" and the cosmic ballet, goes on.
 
I bet They're gonna make it woke like they do movies and tv series they remake. Default Shepard model will be based on Shaq and all Asari will be futa.

Because since all original talent went I can only imagine they replaced them with woke twitter fucks who are going to be all "I'm a huge fan of ME but it really didn't represent the LGBT community right and I intend to fix that #Pride #BLM"

Fuck the gaming industry. I will never do a hardware upgrade I still have a hundred pages of backlog when it comes to games made before they ran out of ideas and started focusing on remaking and rewoking everything in sight.

ME3 multiplayer was really fun. Vorcha were missed by me in MEA, along with the other races, but more so the former as I mained the Vorcha classes.
