Honestly, I'm fine with the remasters, an updated ME1 would go miles to getting a few curious friends into the good game in the franchise.

What I really want to know is who in the EA exec team has a hate boner for the Bioware teams? Another Mass Effect game? After the disaster of the last two Bioware games, with no sign of them climbing out of the ball of bad decisions they've found themselves in? I wonder if they're looking for an excuse to blow up the name, shutter the studio finally and scatter the talent around other teams, as EA is oft want to do.

In other news, I literally just finished replaying Mass Effect 1 again. I used a high-resolution texture pack and reshade and it was great! Nothing to complain about, other than the game showing its age in terms of smaller details. Can't beat that ME1 gameplay though, it was way better than 2 and 3.

That and Karpyshyn was half out the door if not gone by that point. He was the main writer and they dropped his plot ideas and kind of dicked around for a whole game before rushing the whole thing terribly in 3.

Yep and the game also sucked because the writers decided to kill the protagonist in the first 5 minutes in a cutscene.

ME1 was great for the world building, as well as having a neat Sci-fi story.

ME2 had an okay story, but threw out a lot of the world building from the first game. What makes up for this are the interactions with the Normandy crew.

ME3 is rough to get through and has a bad ending; however, the multiplayer was fun, the crew interactions are still pretty good (though cheapened by a lack of cutscene conversations), Rannoch and Tuchanka are great set pieces, and the Citadel DLC is fantastic.

The best way to play ME3 is to download an alternative ending mod and the Citadel Epilogue Mod.

Disagree. The best way to play Mass Effect 3 is to not play Mass Effect 3 and instead play Saints Row IV, which was a better Mass Effect game than Mass Effect 3.
