I am deeply upset and very angry you have offended me.
They have a lot of walking sims. I don't know many modern horror FPS unless you consider those the same thing. And having RE on the cover is like having SH, people buy the brand even if it's bad. This game was very hyped up despite Capcom having gone to shit again
I mean they did try to appeal to the FPS horror crowd with their early demo. Smart choice since they saw that streamers and yt gamers were switching to indie FPS horror in the 2010s.
No. I think RE6 is the only bad mainline RE. Why not get the emulator out and try them all?
I have read some gaming forum, reddit and youtube posts. I have also seen let's plays.
The preferences appear to be all over the place:
-There are people who hate Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 due to deviating into action gameplay rather than horror. There are also some people who only like Resident Evil 4 and/or 5, but hate the rest of the franchise.
-There are the purists who think the series should have stopped after Resident Evil 3. There are also people who hate the puzzle solving and limited ammo of the Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3.
-There are people who find Resident Evil 7 overrated, and Resident Evil 8 underrated.
-There are plenty of gamers who find Resident Evil 6 surprisingly fun to play, especially in coop.
-There are people now complaining about Resident Evil 9 since it has two different types of gameplay rather than their favorite style.
-There are also smaller fanbases for the games outside of the mainline series. This includes Outbreak 1-2 and Dead Aim. Heck, I just found out about on rail shooters such as The Darkside Chronicles and The Umbrella Chronicles. Not everyone is going to excel at resource management.
Wonder why they didn't bother to give a modern follow-up to the Outbreak games? I am also surprised that there are people who hate the action RE games, despite action and/or shooters being the most preferred video game genres.
