I say that just throw away any notion of sense in any Resident Evil game. The logic just breaks down when you try to piece things together.
I mean, in Resident Evil 2, the official notes state that the entrance and exits all throughout Raccoon City was sealed off starting September 24-25, which destroys the idea on why a delivery truck has to go to Raccoon City and how Leon and Claire basically evaded a block-off by the US military to enter Raccoon City.
Then the remake of RE2 basically invalidates Rita Philipps discovery of a new route that is under the statue.
Then don't start me with RE3's contradiction that Jill entered the police station a few hours before Leon/Claire did, and you can find Marvin's corpse.
