For those who haven't seen it, it's about a fascist state that declares an old, openly religious librarian to be literally obsolete and orders his death. The state has proven that there is no God, and no need for knowledge other than what the state provides. In the end, the librarian and the man of the state who sentenced him end up facing death together. The librarian dies with quiet dignity and the state official begs for his own life to be spared.

Now the point that Rod Serling is making is, of course, that the state completely wrong. He says that outright. And yet somehow I feel like Bob would try to explain why Serling was wrong.
