Like when I first say trailers I was like "ha that's gonna suck", then I saw it on TV and was like "eh, not half bad", having seen it a second time and letting it age a bit more I can go off on a limb and say it was good.

I have a few points on why that wouldn't work.

First, the corollary: The Wasteland would be cut off from the blue states (because we all know Bob's Superior Future States vote blue.) I think you underestimate how much the Wasteland indeed depends on the blue states. The Superior Blue States are on the coast, meaning any shipping has to come through them first, and you'd be surprised at how much farming equipment is imported from abroad. The USA has an interdependence between states that isn't easy to restructure.

Second: the blue states have their own farms and factories, and could change the crops and products they produce if needs be. The states won't collapse completely. There would be initial unrest and upheaval, but a new equilibrium would be established soon enough (and I do believe that such an equilibrium would be the pyramid-shaped societal structure Bob craves. Only he'll be at the bottom.)

Third: Bob believes that if we cut of the Wasteland then the international community would step up and support the Superior Future. That the international community would engage in price gouging hasn't crossed his mind- or if it has, he believes any price is worth paying if only those Obsolete Wasteland Mayo Ghouls get what's coming to them.

As to your first point, the entire coastline is not blue. Texas and Florida have plenty of ports. Without checking, I believe that Houston and Tampa are in the top ten for shipping tonnage.

Edit: After checking my figures, Tampa is 22nd in shipping tonnage nationwide, but Houston is 2nd and 13 of the top 20 are in red states (voted for Trump in 2020).

Just because liberals tend to be concentrated on the coast doesn't mean that if Bluelandia and Redistan did decide to part ways, Bluelandia would get all the coast and international borders.

This would be just as easy for the wasteland to do as reorienting to crop production would be for the blues.
