I'm guessing either his aunt had to sell the house (which would mean the Complete Asshole Strangers Upstairs ALSO had to move), or the aunt could no longer give bobby such a break on rent as he's been getting, forcing him to move back with his mom.
By the way, does anyone remember the Revere property records doxx on the basement hovel and the name of the aunt? Cuz there was an obit for a Linda Chipman (would have been a sister-in-law to Peter Chipman if related) who was born in 1948 and died on Sept. 11, 2021 in Chelsea, MA (right next door to Revere). If that's the one, that would explain why Bob had to move from basement hovel - property would have to be either sold to portion out the estate, or left to another family member who doesn't give a shit about letting Bob have a break on rent. For some reason the person's family wanted donations to go to Neurofibromatosis research.
Maybe just doxx basement hovel Revere city tax records to see who owns it now? I don't know how to do that.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and postulate that if the aunt died, the property would be sold and the proceeds split among the kids. For "fairness". If she had no kids, maybe I could see her leaving Movieblob the place. But she definitely had kids. So, no, assets that huge are gonna go to the kids.

Nah no one died at Bobs old pad, but it looks like someone new moved in. The long time owner of 43 Caruso in Revere has been Mary Anne Marotta, who I cannot find any family ties to the Chipman clan.
On 02/09/2021 she conveyed the house to herself and Celine Conte who had previously lived at 29 Larkin Street in Revere until December 2020. Celine was an old family friend of Mary Anne who had offered condolences in an online memorial set up for Mary's mother.
Having someone new move in, it looks like they may have decided it was time to ask the basement weirdo to move out. Either that or Bob ran out of money to pay for his hovel.

OK, yeah, that lines up. Explains Bob's departure from the flooding basement hovel to casa de Mama.
Although, it would have been more hilarious for him to move in with his brother (and probably more helpful; couldn't Chris use the rent money?). Can you imagine the spergfests if those two were in the same house 24/7? Chris' downward spiral would collapse in on itself.
But then of course Mama Chipman is getting on in years, and maybe she needs Bob more than Chris needs a bit of rental income.
