Reminder: The only reason we know Robert’s niece is overweight and autistic is that her parents, Christopher and Sarah Chipman, made it extremely public — as did Robert. Their primary responsibility to this child is to shield her from potential harm and they have failed spectacularly. The only type of grimdark stories I hate, are the badly written ones that try too hard to be gloom and doom, only to feel annoyed in the end.
Grimdark is a really hard genre to pull off correctly IMO. The grimdark stories that stood out to me the most, were Warhammer 40K, Berserk and Goblin Slayer. But knowing schmucks like MovieBlob, he lumps good grimdark stories with the bad ones. To him, he like pastel colored slop spoon fed to him by Disney, Marvel and whatnot.

That's not how Eucharist/Communion works, that's not how Papism works (the pope, try as he might, cannot ban a filthy Lutheran such as myself from Heaven), that's not how Catholicism works, and that's not how Salvation works. Even if the Pope excommunicated any given Catholic, that person can just go get their "jesus-crackers" somewhere else, like a United Church. Besides, it's not the Pope that bans people from Heaven, bobby, it's the consequences of their own actions (unrepentant sin). He can ban them from being a Catholic, but that's not at all the same as "Cancelling" them from "the Good Place".

I know he is from a (catholic background, but a lot of Catholics especially lapsed Catholics have no idea about any protestant view on theology, and think all protestants are all Lutherans.) The answer is yes, but he'd be disappointed because there's no lesbians in it.
For boomers like Bob, Totally Spies was not "a parody of spy movies". It was a super spy cartoon played straight. You have three teenage girl stereotypes. A valley girl, a smart girl, and an athletic girl. They'd have to stop Blofeld esc super villains while also having to deal with high school life like finding a boyfriend or preparing for a maths test.
It's reputation as a fetish show comes from every other episode having some oddly specific thing happen to them. Like they get mind controlled, turned into animal people, or eat poisoned cookies that make them fat. They also get tied up a lot. You can see how coomers of a certain age would have fond memories of it.
Talking with some people I know who loved the original show, no one has any real hope for the new series. There's no way the kind of things they got away with back then would be acceptable in current year. Even if we ignore the coomer side, I predict it will be quippy and "ironic" just like every other shitty reboot. I won't surprised if they try to make a character gay or trans (probably Jerry, because he's the only recurring character I remember who wasn't always trying to get a date).
