Yeah that's pretty much what I came to.If you listen to Scorsese he is fine with superhero movies being a thing but not fine with them pushing other movies out, be it studios not making midbudget movies as much anymore or the very real issue of movies having few to no screens to accommodate more shows of the latest Superhero showing much like when Nightmare Alley which is a Disney movie had screening pulled to make way for more showings of Spiderman. However this issue I won't blame Marvel for making those movies but on the studios for demanding a number of screens for their movies or picking poor release dates in the first place. The other group to blame is the audience who choose to only see movies/ips they have heard of rather than original movies or more adult movies when it comes to the cinema yet many complain about everything being sequels and reboots.
Its not the issue they exist, its the over-saturation.
There needs to be a balance between popcorn movies and niche movies.
I'm not gonna lie in that I do see more popcorn flicks over niche movies, and haven't seen any Scorsese movie.
Though that said I usually just watch historical documentaries or movies and anything associated with motorsport nowadays.
I think thats why I never really talk about the objective quality of a film and more about if I found it enjoyable and maybe a few things about ideas or themes in it. So more RLM than MovieBob I guess.
