How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Thanks to the A-logging jackass, I actually have a game to look forward too because that looks like a fun story driven game with a Blade Runner style to it
You'd think at one point, Bob would start selling his spergery as a form of advertisement to game developers. It seems to be pretty effective.

So how much do you guys wanna bet that MovieBob and his pals are going to try something in the hear future, in order to get The Last Night canceled or at the very least rejected from Steam and the Xbox Marketplace?

Until more game footage comes out to nitpick, Bob and co. can't attempt anything serious. Probably being optimistic there though.

Bob uploads a video about Adam West and the 60s Batman series. Spends some time spouting off buzzwords, praising the show for diverse casting, and talking about the counter-cultural impact of the show. Talks positively about Adam West, but otherwise can't stray away from attacking those that are "inferior".

Does he mention that when Julie Newmar left the show and Eartha Kitt came aboard that all sexual tension between Batman and Catwoman was completely jettisoned?

Very diverse.

So where did the whole "every hated Adam West but me!" mindset come from? Because I've seen both Bob and Dobson bitch about people hating the original Batman, but I've never seen any of the actual hate.

They're exaggerating criticisms towards the 60s Batman show for being light and campy. I guess Dobbo and Bobbo think this automatically means dudebros hated it.

In my experience most people enjoy the Bright Knight even if they're fans of Nolan's trilogy.

They try SO hard to be different from all those other men, who like FPS games and the DARK AND GRITTY BATMAN. So therefore they say that Adam West's Batman was the best because then they'll be different from the Dude Bros.

Let's be real here, nobody has ever gone 'God, Adam West's Batman sucked.' Because we all want to punch baddies while 'POW' and 'SMASH' come up on the screen, whether we like to admit it or not.

Ya got me.

If you can't groove on Julie Newmar in that Catwoman outfit or Yvonne Craig as Batgirl, there's somethin' deeply wrong with you.

They confuse 'everyone makes fun of the show' for 'everyone hates the show'.

The Lego Batman movie joking about it isn't doing it because the scene is silly, it's doing it because they want to mock and ruin Batman 66.

What these walking tubs of lard ignore is that you can easily make fun of what you love. Try to get Blobfish to joke about Mario bitten by a Chain Chomp and there's nothing.

This is like something an abuser in a relationship would say. Also, he says he took a 3K walk. I'm doubting him pretty hard:

It's a joke. Y'know, one of those arcane concepts you seemingly can't wrap your head around:

Things changed on the journalism side. For example, Bob got shitcanned from two different places:

The fuck am I "wrong" about? I loved this series for the campy, super 60s, pop-art aesthetic, and the goofy, committed performances. I kind of assumed that why most people liked it, too.

Does he attack new Batman for no real reason? Even then, people can enjoy different interpretations of a character as long as it's good.

There's a lot of projection going on.

Bob's nauseatingly self-serving "I know I can be hard to take!" tweets notwithstanding, he and Dobson (and a lot of other specimens on this site) are incredibly hateful, angry people, either because of disappointments in their lives or their own unexamined neuroses. As a result when they take it into their head to dislike some silly bit of pop culture, they really hate it, spewing venom on it, denigrating it, dismissing it, pointing to it as a symptom of everything that's wrong with whatever genre they're talking about. There was a Tony Goldmark tweet a few days ago about how he "despises" one of the Cars movies -- how do you "despise" a kid's cartoon? I suppose if you found it genuinely exploitative or harmful to children it would make sense, but that's not what his issue was.

(And let's not even get into their politics, where their neurotic fits become full blown psychosis.)

So they assume everyone else doesn't just not care for something or take pass on it -- they must loathe it, shit on it, laugh and mock it for years on end.

It's why Bob is a laughable failure as a critic. He's incapable of seeing anything from another point of view, and assumes the shit-stained filter he sees the world through must be something everyone has.

IIRC, Tony hates Cars 2 because of it's focus on a "simple man" as the hero, in this case, Mater.

If I was richer and crazier, I'd hook something up outside their basements so that this would play on a loop until they crack:

I've noticed that ever since the success of The Dark Knight, it has been cool to hate on any superhero/comic book adaptation that goes for a more serious angle and embrace campy stuff largely out of contrarian spite. Which isn't to say that you can't enjoy both, but I have a feeling that Bob and Dobby's love for that show has something to do with that mindset.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm sort of looking forward to his TMNT video just to see how he shoehorns his masturbatory geopolitical revenge fantasies into the franchise.

(Also :offtopic: but I think that the best way to fix the TMNT franchise is to make a Netflix series that's based off the current IDW run, which is really good from what I've read IMO.)
