Someone really conversant with the novel who was not a screaming fanboy who thinks Peter Hackson ruined Middle-earth FOREVER would be able to give a tremendous amount of insight into it. A guy named Loren Rosson (I think, been a while since I read him) who blogs about fantasy and RPGs fit the bill a few years ago.

I somehow think Bob is not up to the challenge.

Jesus Christ, that was one of the most torturous of all the Bob Chipman videos. The ideas presented by Blob are so moronic, that not even the chucklefucks at Colombia pictures would touch with a 12ft pole. Some of the "genius" ideas include.

1. An Alien movie where the good guy is the Alien queen
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street remake that rips off It
3. Mortal Kombat movie where there is gore, but no deaths leaving the whole point of a lethal tournament moot.
4. A Transformers movie that is a way that can Bob can felate his hatred for the Second Amendment.
5. Ninja Turtles movies that have all the previously shitty ideas he has already presented.

Tolkien was distrustful of the modern world whereas Bob is willing to compromise humanity and ignore it's most dystopian aspects for his 'superior future'. Most importantly Tolkien catagorically rejected moral compromaise to defeat evil or do good (it's sarumans primary arc and hinted to be Saurons backstory) where as bob believes the ends justify the means. I really don't see how Bob could enjoy these movies beyond cosmetic considering they directly challange his worldview.

The New York State legislatures are such a seething hotbed of corruption, lassitude, inertia, and generally shitty human beings that the party designation barely matters.
