IMO giving Black Panther the Best Picture Oscar would be the cinematic equivalent of a participation trophy (not that the Oscars are and have always been flawed as hell though).

Bob doesn't particularly care for the populist economic left, but they elicit more of a 'shut up and get in line' reaction from him than the pure vitriol that their right-wing equivalents do. But since he's already decided he hates the gilets jaunes it's easier to write them off as evil right-wingers.
