Yoshi's Island was the culmination of everything that Miyamoto and his team were working on at the time, and one of the most technologically advanced games of its era, squeezing every possible magic trick out of the SNES and the FX2 chip. If Bob can't recognize that because it retcons the continuity that was never officially acknowledged in the first place, he's pretty much an artless twit, not that there was much question about that.

This fanatical robot defense both amazes and amuses me. By God, Bob might not know exactly what the Superior Future will look like, or how to get there, but his conviction that it will have robots is absolute, so all robots must be defended to the death no matter what. I doubt Col. Schlichter would remember who Bob was if you asked him today. You'd have to prod him with the Tweets, and then it'd be like 'Ugh, that guy... why did you make me remember him?'.

Remember that this is the same toilet muncher that thinks Skynet should be the good guys in a Terminator reboot. It does speak to Bob's egocentrism. He has embraced "The Death of the Author" to the point where he believes that he--as a consumer and cultural critic--has a more authoritative interpretation on who and what Mario is. Never mind the fact that it is Shigeru Miyamoto and the staff at Nintendo that create the games in the first place. Leave it to Bob to believe that he knows better than the freaking godfather Nintendo as we know it.

And it's worth pointing out that Bob likely isn't pissed off about the retcon itself. He's pissed about the fact that by retconning the continuity in the way they did, Mario "couldn't exist" in the real world like Bob once thought he could.
He's mad that a fictional character is in fact fictional.

For be fair some of his past videos I would dare to call them mild-entertaining or being informative in a superficial way but this is the same guy who had called for the death of the white middle class, trump supporters and generaly being an ass in social media.

We can’t have nice things, people will destroy the robot. Look what’s happening to ride share bikes and scooters all over the country. People leave them in trees, throw them into ravines, etc. Society needs to mature and advance to a point where gleefully destroying other people’s shit doesn’t happen.
What Blobb will never acknodweldge is he’s no better than the buffoons he wants to replace with robots because he gleefully enjoys kicking them.
