That's the point. Modern lawmakers wipe their asses with the Constitution, so why should the average normie getting tired of liberalism care about it? But religions that have lasted for eons, that weathered persecution and lived through both golden ages and dark ages, they have a bigger appeal. So while they have no faith in modern lawmaking and constitutions, the idea that God is on their side is a far stronger, far more appealing idea, and basing future laws on that would be far more enticing since instead of basing it on some mortal constitution designed by mortal men who backed down when threatened by slaveowners, they can look to their God's rules and laws instead, which has a bigger appeal to an increasingly growing number of radicalized religious people, both on the Christian and Muslim side.Funny thing about the Constitution: when it was being drafted, many of the Founding Fathers wanted to abolish slavery. The reason they didn't was because the slave-owning states threatened civil war, and they didn't want to fight another war so soon after the Revolution. The slave-owning states wanted to be able to buy and sell their human chattel and deny them rights (like voting), but also wanted them to count as people for the purposes of the Electoral College and seats in the House of Representatives- a classic case of wanting to have their cake and eat it too. The compromises they came up with (like the three-fifths compromise) were not only a way to give the slave owners what they wanted, they served to highlight the mental gymnastics conducted by slave owners (e.g., "how can a person count as a person for the Electoral College and the House, but not be considered a person otherwise?")
Much of what erodes the Constitution today is by and large due to a lack of respect for the document. The Tenth Amendment specifically states that any powers not specifically given to the Federal Government are reserved for the people and the states. But if we ignore that bit, we can justify all sorts of things!
Also Bob is fat and nobody will have sex with him.
Also, some of the Founding Fathers were slaveowners. So not all of the Founding Fathers wanted to end slavery.
Bob might get laid if he paid for it. But considering his looks, the hookers might charge extra.
