RaHoWa was only ever, at best, a glorified edgelord masturbatory joke.

We actually did F.A.T.A.L. here a couple times. It's basically unplayable. Someone put a lot of effort into the rules, but they're shit, they contradict each other, and I doubt it was ever playtested because whoever wrote it had no friends and probably never left his basement.

RaHoWa was absolute trash as the rules went, though. I remember one of the main objections from anyone who actually tried to play it was the way the rules were drafted basically meant Jews with certain abilities were effectively completely unbeatable by the apparently vastly inferior white people.

The catch is that this hurts yourself too. It's more than just displays of piety to alleviate your own sense of moral guilt. RPGNet--and wokeness in general--teaches people to obsessively ruminate over how awful the world is, and it fills them with anxiety and despair. When you spend all of your time consooming fear, outrage, and resentment, you become a fearful, outraged, and resentful person.

I think it will stop on a wider cultural/societal level in the coming years but I also think that a lot more people will be burnt out husks from it than other cultural zeitgeists like the hippies of the 60's and 70's or the fundies of the 80's and 90's.

The hardcore true believer SJW's are way more likely to be more or less trapped forever in this state, even if the culture leaves them behind and moves on (or even outright vilifies them like the fundies)

But with that said I also think a lot of the trend chasers who just hopped on the bandwagon, the ones who passively support it to avoid cancel culture and the corporate bigwigs who pander to and empower the Woke Left right now are far more likely to just drop this shit and move on.

Chances are that RPG.net, ResetEra, and Onyx Path Forums are more likely to be comprised of the former group while Wizards of the Coast and sites like Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook are far more likely to be majority comprised of the latter group.

Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook have enough normie appeal that they could easily drop woke shit and even purge it outright if they felt like they needed to, and the same goes for companies like Wizards of the Coast thanks to larger corporate backing.

Not to sound like a Boogaloo Boy or something, but... Yes, but not until something happens. I don't know what that something is. But something is going to have to act as a catalyst to get enough people to be willing to say "fuck this", and damn the consequences.

I think these riots *might* be it. But I don't know. I'm not optimistic.

W:ta is only really problematic in the sense that pretty much all the tribes are linked with ethnic groups rather than nations and they obviously didnt do much research ( mythic fenris is closer to the settings antagonist than anything). Wendigo is actually one of the better tribes for this in that the tribe is specifically linked with Algonquian tribes and integrates the myth with the setting.

The issue is not one of sub-culture but economics, RPG's are a middle class niche counter culture hobby-agroup dominated by white people. It was for example very difficult for me to get into living in a dirt-poor mountain village in mid wales during the 90's despite a growing interest in the subject. their just wasnt the culture for it.
Conversaly this is why the lgbt representation is larger than population averges as counter-culture tends to overlap in a way that ethnic urban communities don't and LGBT communities are becoming increasingly affluent as its safer to come out to mummy and daddy.
RPG nets desire for a 'more diverse' is counter intuative as it requires drawing from a group which just isnt there, creating byzantine web of etiquate and simply gets them caught in a web of their own good intentions. Ironically their distaste for WoD/edgyness in general and emphasis on turning D&D into a giant pride parade actually distances by furthering the disconect between urban/blue collar communities. A group of badass vampire gangwars is infinatly more relatable than Adventure Zone if you come from a place with fuck all money, less hope and loyalty to your own is all that matters.

FATAL does have some use, if only as a source for the utterly insane magic failure tables, which could easily be imported into any of your own homebrew games. Having 1000+ states of chaotic magical failures could prove useful to anyone.

Too bad most of those magic failures are things such as forcing every [INSERT RACE/SEX OF NPCS AND PLAYER CHARACTER HERE] in a one mile radius to rape the spellcaster to death, seeking out slaves so they can jack them off and collect their semen in bottles, or have an intense craving to suck cock every day or be forced to die as a result, or gaining +10 in one of the many riveting skills in the game, including the classic RPG skill of Architecture, Charisma (Kinetic) and Basket-weaving, among others. The best one is the magical failure result where the campaign ends because you "accidentally" destroyed the entire world.
