I think that's part of it. I also think one of the quoted posters hits an aspect on the head when they say it's about how the game glorifies justifying abusing others because you weren't treated well yourself; even without picking up on the 'SJWs are actually the villains' part it's still understandable why people might be repelled by a game that justifies abusers in that fashion.

I always associate it with David 'Olivia' Hill, who clearly believes he's allowed to big a massive cunt to the world because he's a troon. Indeed, it's a pretty mask-off game that tries to be a sort of grim revenge story with anti-hero aspects but is so poorly written turns out that you're playing predators who are morally justified because reasons, also known as just really shitty people deluding themselves that they're in the right. It's not meant to be a direct allegory for how SJWs are horrible people whose fight for justice and equality actually just comes from poorly-disguised revenge, selfishness and envy, but again, written badly by people who are like that and want to make themselves out to be the PC, not the NPC that 'normies' believe are good people, but they know the truth about who's truly good and evil in this world.

It's usually not a great idea to analyse a book as a psychological projection of the author/s, especially something that's required to have certain traits like books in the WoD franchise. But considering who the authors are and the batshit, confused nature of the books, it really has the feel of deeply unpleasant people justifying their thought processes so they're the good guys. Meaning you don't have to be one of those people who think only white people can be racist to see Beast as being fucked up abuser-defending bullshit.

Source: I haven't read the book, just one or two detailed dissections and the David Hill thread here.
Hill's game iHunt also fits into this concept of a horrible person justifying why he's actually the good guy. Given the fever pace at which he is writing splats for it and the contents of said splats, I'd call that game an excellent example of psychological protection.

Yeah, it's that weird inversion of morality that I think gets to the core of what's wrong with it. From the very beginning the World of Darkness games have revolved around playing characters who do bad things to some extent or another (greater extent in, say, Vampire, maybe lesser extent in something like Hunter or Mage), but the franchise's moral compass still basically points north. Doing bad things is doing bad things. If your Hunter or your Werewolf pack does something awful in the name of a greater good, it's still something awful. I'm sure plenty of 14-year-old edgelords played Sabbat campaigns in Vampire that just went torture-rape-murder-repeat, but the game doesn't come out and tell you from an omniscient narrator's perspective that you should feel good about your repeated acts of murder, rape, and torture.

But then you get Beast, which really does come out and say that you can do bad things and feel good about it after. And that's the bad seed all the game's problems grow out of, because if you're not a sociopath, that's not a perspective you can come around to, no matter how hard the sociopaths making the game try to talk you into it.

Importantly, most of the games mechanically punish you for giving in to the monster inside. Vampires might have more opportunities to get powerful if they commit diablerie or kill wantonly, but good luck rolling any of your checks to avoid flipping out if you have two dots in your humanity meter. With the risk of destroying the other members of your party, you turn into a liability the second you go below 4.

If you notice that Mary Sue thread was started by Mama Voodoo, who last year tried to pass off an NBA players baby pictures as her own.
She's just pissy because she has the whitest lifestyle ever (visiting national parks in a giant RV while watching Star Trek and dressing in 50s rockabilly fashion) so she has to overcompensate by being as woke and sjw-y as physically possible.
That's bullshit, try making a post that includes the word 'gypsy' or 'retarded' or 'tranny'. I guarantee you will get infracted regardless of context or intent. Not sure why they feel the need to play semantic games but hey, that's rpg.net, baby!

Isn't Mama Voodoo a troon? The name has strong fake black trans energy.
Strangely (for rpg.net) she claims not to be.

Edit: She is clearly a compulsive liar. She has at times claimed to be a voodoo priestess, a chef and did the infamous stolen baby photo. She’s living a fantasy life online, calling it now.

Got any screenshots if the highlights? It's a members only thread now if it was not before and I don't think I've logged into there for about a decade

Thank you very much. Still glad I lost interest in the site before it went all in on the nutty. Reading this thread often gives me the feeling of having avoided something of a car crash by that largely motiveless decision.

Would it be possible, feasible, appropriate to...I don’t want to say ban...discourage perhaps, usage of the term “Mary Sue” when discussing female characters in other media?
This is why I could never be a member of the SJW cult: Anyone who is so ashamed of their own intentions that they cannot state them outright and accurately, or have to dress them in vague, saccharine platitudes is full of shit.

They are always trying to deceive and manipulate.

No, that's her lesbian husband.

I still can't believe nothing came of that. It just... vanished. Without a comment. I've not heard a word of it since.
