I'll be honest, I never liked this aspect of Superman and Flash. I liked how they were portrayed in the Justice League cartoon. Superman and Wonderwoman were super tough sure, but both for example could hurt each other, and couldn't solve the situation singlehandedly. Flash could be one of the biggest threats, but his personality was always a limiting factor, while also being funny.
The cartoon (I think I only saw like the season one) didn't need to write cope fests of how Superman could have totally saved the day and shit and chose to let people die to save Batman's feelings. IIRC the show event made it into a point that they needed the team for them to be at their best.
When your main character can solve every problem because he's the fastest, strongest, most durable, can see through anything, can detect lies, etc, etc, then why the fuck isn't he actually solving any of the problems instead of waiting for the end of the movie/comic book issue/episode, etc.
The only thing that is more silly than this, are the massive copefests Flash fans go onto to justify how their villains actually do all make sense and are a real threat (not to say that Flash doesn't have actually decent villains, but boy do some of his other villains suck)
