WP:VG Newsletter - Are there any positives that have come from your involvement in Wikipedia's GamerGate article? Do the positives outweigh the negatives in this case? Do you view your involvement with the topic as a mistake? How would you advise others to approach their own involvement?

Ryulong - There's not much positive that's come about from my involvement in the article. The only thing that's happened is that I have a larger group of acquaintances on Twitter and I have to sit back and watch messes I would usually clean up on Wikipedia get worse. And I don't really know if my involvement was a mistake. The Wikipedia page is as good as it can get but I do have a peanut gallery watching my every move on Reddit now, which is worse than it was before when it was only 4chan commenters disliking translation choices. And my advice is don't do it unless you're prepared to have your entire online history dredged up to be determined if you're on their side, cause if you're not, I hope you like being listed on all their hitlists.

On RationalWiki, Ryulong was brought to the Chicken Coop (again) to see if he should have his sysop rights removed (they weren't) after butting heads with AgingHippie over the Gamergate article.

Once that drama had ended, Ryulong's burning hatred for 4chan led him to weaponize his disorders and turn his attention to RationalWiki's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic article, where he has spent two days and counting throwing a Category 5 Sperg Out towards "horsefuckers."

Our page didn't have the word "ableism" on it. One of Ryulong's "trans and very gay" online friends (who has used a Wikipedia account to enforce Ryulong's "Buddyloids" Engrish for him) came to help attack the MLP article (and back up Ryulong in another hilarious spat) after talking with Ryulong on Twitter.

As with pretty much anything involving Ryulong, he ended up annoying everyone in proximity and he began acting like he was a victim and had done nothing wrong.

On the other hand, you seem to have a gigantic bias for the fandom. Namely, downplaying any negative qualities as much as you can, while still trying to feign at achnowledging their existence. In addition to the connection to 4chan, Ryulong's hatred for bronies is also caused by Ryulong believing bronies are appropriating his "own fucking sexuality" by bronies supposedly coming out of the stable to their families.

Ire towards Bronies online is as far as I'm aware in response to the gatekeeping and defensive behavior Bronies have pulled with regards to their enjoyment of this one show. As far as I'm aware, this is only the remnants of aspects of the fandom originating on 4chan. Like with the ire towards people they perceive as responsible for censorship of the series or its fandom. I am only speaking from my experience in observing this. This isn't even an article where he's basically on the same page as the rest of the spergs on IrrationalWiki. Hating goobergrape is pretty par for the course there, and he is even loathed in that editing community.

I think he's getting more lolcowish as he gets driven out of more and more things for being an utter asshole.

The butthurt continues as Ryulong is still fighting against bronies. Ryulong was desysop'd and blocked for an hour after being his usual asshole self and blocking another RW user. This is interesting as it reveals a little more into what makes Cohen tick; he was mad because he couldn't immediately respond to a "feMRA" and believed if no one replied it would let her run wild on RationalWiki.

Good point. People have been pointing at laughing at this ninny since 2006/2007, Ryulong was featured on both Wikiabuse and Wikipedia Review (and later, Wikipediocracy), as well as ED.

The protection on the article has been removed and Cohen has gone on the offensive again. Another RW user reverted him and said Ryulong was on an "anti-MLP jihad," which produced even more salt from the Jewranger.

I reorganized the section, removed blatantly insulting descriptions of issues I had raised, fixed up various other bits, and added content I had suggested from a source I suggested that no one wanted to read, and that's an "anti-MLP Jihad"? This is ridiculous and you're just doing it because it's me who wrote it. This paragraph containing the mildest fucking criticism I can find in something that is a newspaper (as well as adding back the sentence on the German guy not being subtitled) is not an anti-brony hitpiece.
