I can run it with a 3050 and 16 gigs of RAM with everything on low and with DLSS on Performance. It doesn't run well though lol

The review is only good for info about the technical things, bugs etc., once I saw that inventory screen while he complained about it I realized none of his opinions about gameplay can be taken that seriously as he straight up doesn't understand the type of game he's playing. I've seen a few reviewers where I felt like they just didn't like the Stalker formula in general so they were really harsh with it while the old school fans are having a blast, aside from the tech issues. But honestly that's exactly what I expected, either you like this type of game or you don't. It's not like many other games that you find okay but could also do without.

Hope they iron out the worst issues soon because to me it sounds like there's quite a good game buried in there and I need a new addiction

I saw a comment telling people to buy the game to support Ukraine and another whining about "muh Russian bots" leaving negative reviews.

You can disable that god awful crosshair in the settings. Makes it look slightly better.

Does anyone else notice a lot of ghosting when playing the game, especially when the upscale is set to TAA? It's less noticeable on FSR but still annoying. Doesn't seem to be any when native res is on but the image quality looks awful.

And I'm also getting some weird bug where if the sharpening setting is set above 50%, you'll get 2-3 frames where it looks like the game is being resized slightly. I thought it was a flicker at first but it isn't.

Between that and the awful radiation screen overlay I'm getting paranoid that the game is breaking my PC. I think I'm gonna put this on the backburner for a couple months until they get their shit together.

I'm stalker cucked. I played it on gamepass, which runs out for me on a couple days. It locked me in so hard I just bought the game (for 50$ off a key site) rather than 10$ for another month of game pass. If you love the original stalker games you'll at least like this one. The performance is garbage, but I'm personally playing it at 40-60fps on a 7yo machine so I'm not complaining too much.

Okay, got 10 hours under my belt now and I feel like I can give some thoughts about the PC release

Starting out
- The intro is absolute dogshit, I guess that was executive meddling or something, because it's nothing like the rest of the game.
- Once you get out of the initial Lesser Zone area the game appears to open up fully, I was able to go straight from the starting area, through Garbage and straight to Rostov to get supplies.

Performance
- Performance is... decent? Once I bumped my graphic settings down from Epic to Great (or whatever the second highest one is) the game ran pretty well.
- There's some stuttering, some pop-in, I'm sure I can mess with the graphic settings a bit to get it to run smoother, but for me it's fine. I am sure it will annoy some people, but for me it's fine.
- I've noticed a few NPC's phase through the floor, only to pop up again when getting near them. Mmmmm slav-jank
- I've had one crash to desktop in 10 hours. Not too bad for a day one release.

Gameplay
- The guns feel good, although I think they degrade a touch too fast.
- Enemy animal AI is interesting to say the least. Apparently the zone has taught rats/dogs/boar how to take cover. As soon as you climb on top of something to gun them down they will scatter and hide, until your feet touch the floor for a second and then its like you have rung the dinner bell. It's just odd.
- Bloodsuckers are scary again, they tank buckshot to the face, their cloak is better and they tend to dash around a lot. It's a lot of fun to fight them.
- Enemy human AI seems decent enough, they flank you, push your position and they are not afraid to flush you out with grenades.
- There's a few new anomalies, my favorite so far is the floating glass one

My first impressions have been pretty good so far. Might just be nostalgia, but I'm happy with it at the moment.

This guy is such an anomaly: Sometimes his observations will be spot on, sometimes he will expose himself as the most clueless normalfag on youtube. Either way, at least he seems genuine, unlike someone like Gmanshills or gaming journos

How do you people manage to play this game? I have 32GB ram, i9-12900k CPU, and a 3090. My game is stuttering, dropping frames, and worst of all freezes in the middle of combat, which lets the NPCs kill me when it unfreezes. It's unplayable. Changing setting or updating drivers does nothing.

Going on /v/, it looks like they might have just ported all of the game's logic over to Unreal 5. Feel free to check if your favorite bugs and jank still work, chances are they will.
