What would sell well would simply be a modernized version of SR1/2. Wouldn't have to be the exact same game, just the concept. GTA has gone off the rails, and while realistic shit doesn't do super well anymore on the gaming market outside of the niche, which is the only place to find good games anymore.

A 2022 take on rhe concepts of SR1 would literally be a san andreas type release, just modern. Instead were getting this wierd mix of old, new and shit.

Who's taking the plunge and buying this POS? I'm debating it. I could care less about the characters and story so long as the open world is fleshed out and rewards gameplay. SR has always had goofy characters and missions and really no emotion, and was always a fun open world 3rd person shooter with a nice amount of exploration attached, until 3. Good open world games are hard to find now, and I'm very worried it will be a checklist of useless shit.
Wait until you can get it used or on a steep discount, I reckon it won't take long for either to happen.

Honestly man, even at its "best" this game looks like more of Saints Row 3, so you'd be better off sticking to that instead.

I already posted about one of the voice actor interviews that showed off what kind of voice(s) you can use to portray as the Boss™ for the new game. Well, it turns out that these are what the new actors for the main characters look like:

Kevin

Eli

Neenah

The last one does in fact have a nose ring.
I know that last one, she played some roles in Dragon Ball, including best girl Android 21. She's mainly an anime dub VA. Sadly, a Funimation VA.

I'm probably just gonna get it when PSN puts the game in the bargain bin, which is inevitable at this point. Just mute dialogue, turn off subtitles and enjoy the gameplay if it's fun.

Waiting for friend and Kiwi opinions before I put money down for it. Certainly won't be at full price, I tell you - I made that mistake with Agents of Mayhem, and am one of the three people who enjoyed it.
Agents of Mayhem actually has some likeable things about it. This game just looks absolutely abhorrent, even pirating it feels like a rip-off cause you're still spending as much as your bandwidth, time, & lives of your processor, RAM, SSD/HDD, etc. on it.

If you're getting it (terrible idea), you better be pirating it, don't give them your money for this shit.
I predict it'll hit the bargain bin a couple months after release. Maybe a silver lining for this release would be a sudden uptick of 2/3/4 sales on Steam.

Jesus Christ, this is exactly why this shit gets made.
It's free money that I can't do anything else with.

Look at it this way.

If my ~$60 (that I can't do anything else with) buys a shitty game and I prevent you all from buying it, then my (again unusable elsewhere, it was a $100 giftcard that's already logged into my account) $60 prevents you from giving this company X amount of thousands of dollars.

However if this game is actually quite okish or decent and we are dooming it, and it's worth the purchase, well then they earned their money

You can only spend this money on Saints Row reboot?

If you actually think it looks good, fine. Don't act like buying a shitty game is a public service and not a total fucking waste of money because you can't be arsed to wait for something good to come out before you blow a gift card.

You do what you want with your money, but I cannot fathom paying full price for ANY video game.

I would think use that $100 on a PSN sale to get MORE games for a cheaper price.

That fallacy doesn't work when you yourself give money to that same company. You could do the same thing if you buy the game at a discounted price or even watch footage of it.

I can only spend it on PSN. I could spend it on something else, but there is truly nothing that interests me out atm. The only game I'm looking forward to, Dakar 2022, probably isn't even releasing this year anymore.

While I don't have high hopes for the SR Reboot, I'm interested to see what it has to offer. I'm not pre-ordering, but I'll check the reviews out the day or 2 before, and see what's up

If you really can't think of anything else on PSN you'd want, then it's your call. I'd say that you should look at user reviews or YouTube videos however, these days there seems to be a huge dissonance between what critics like and what the average joe likes (I wouldn't put it past Volition to find a way to "massage" the game's Metacritic rating).

If you do go through with it, let us know of any particularly heinous shit in the game that we haven't seen yet.
