Saints Row thread

It's interesting because it seems like the factions list was set. Makes me think they're a late addition or just so bland that they aren't worth highlighting, or like you said they're a non enemy gang.
I feel they'll probably be massacred by some other gang and the only survivor will join the Saints as a comedy relief loser they all make fun of.
Hate to say it but....product of it's time. That stuff was in vogue big time during the Myspace era from 03-08. All those NME, Pitchfork and Myspace bands.
Yeah. I know it's an irrational request for that kind of music I'm just nostalgic. Though Volition seemed to fuck up the radio stations in that they have a lack of variety.

Given that moron with the bottle of ketchup and the colored tips on the guns, I almost think these dickheads are supposed to be larpers pretending to be raiders or some shit. I honestly wouldn't put it past modern Volition to make a "gang" like that and take it seriously enough to not make them a random event like pirates & ninjas in 2.

Sunset Overdrive had that sort of thing too, only that game was smart enough to make fun of them as a bunch of wackos.
One of the enemy gangs is literally r/latestagecapitalism so I wouldn't put it past them

Sad but true. Though I cannot imagine a modern metal station in the newest game since Metal isn't popular as it used to be back in the 2000s in the mainstream. Hell, I barely hear metal on the radio anymore and I think you have pay for it now.

I remembered that every Saints Row game usually has a Saint die, often horribly, so if they keep this tradition up then which scumfaggot do you think they'll kill off in this game?
It won't be any of the main ones, they'll have a token whitey male who joins, and will later turn out to be a traitor working with one of the rival gangs, where you'll get a ebic cutscene of the gang murdering that hateful bigot, but not before saying "ratio" right before he perishes while they do a smug smirk. And everyone will clap.

If we follow the modern sequel pattern theyre gonna bring an old fan favorite and kill him off, almost sure it'll be Johnny Gat, but he's not white, so who knows

Also ive been playing through SR3 and 4 again, and noticed that most of the newer cast those brought are just... Meh? I completely forgot Zimos, Angel and Asha even existed and while i do like chars like Ben King and Matt Miller, by the end of SR4 you realize the only mainstays are Pierce, Shaundi, Gat and Kinzie...

...And then you compare them to the NuSaints cast and weep

There will be a new kind of nice white guy, probably one of the weird 4th gang members who helps you out or something. He'll catch a bullet and die in a dramatic and sad scene.

Apparently the game also opens with a cold open where the protagonist is being buried alive? Then the rest of the game is a flashback showing how that happened? I'd forgive everything about this game if the protagonist gets betrayed by their shitty friends over greed or whatever and the final mission is escaping the grave and killing them all out of revenge, like how in SR2 you go and kill Julius in one of the game's darker and more impressive story moments.

This will, of course, not happen.

They've been pretty adamant that Johnny will not be in this game, but I doubt he won't at least make some kind of subtle appearance, even if it's just a voice cameo or something. Killing him though? No way, they did that at the start of SR3 and walked it back so hard that they've been sucking his asian cock ever since. He'll be the sequel hook character or something, in a desperate attempt to win back some of the fans they burned to a crisp.

Much as I want to see the shirtless douchebag get dragged to death and Steve Urkel II get buried alive, Volition won't do such a thing.

They worked ever so hard to make these dickheads "likeable", having one of them die gruesomely would make them sad.

They won't pull the trigger. The best I can imagine is it's the Mad Max Burger King character they added in last second, since he was a white guy.

I've been watching TheProfessional's playthrough of Saints Row The Third and I forgot how rushed the first half of the game was. Loren literally dies like four missions in, not counting those filler activity missions. Then Oleg tells the Saints that "they're not ready to take on the Syndicate." As if killing their leader and taking over their skyscraper base isn't enough proof that the Saints can take them on.

I also realized a plot hole where the Syndicate creates the Oleg clones in the Syndicate Tower, yet they still somehow make them even after losing the tower and it's just never explained. It's not like the Brute's are just a gameplay enemy type, they show up in cutscenes and shit, so narrative wise there's a second cloning facility that the game just never mentions or acknowledges.

I'll be honest, Loren dying first was the dumbest thing in the game for me and baffled me when I first played the game. It's not helped by the fact you don't even get to resolve the stupidity with Killbane either.

Like, it'd have been smarter for you to go after the Syndicate's branch elements and make Morning Star the toughest. But nope. They do the equivalent of having you kill Dane Vogel after like 4 gang missions, and one or two of them were activity ones you had to do.

And then he's not even in 4, there's just an optional, offhand mention that he died when the Earth was destroyed. What a complete waste of a plot thread. The opening to that game should have been about squaring off with him instead of Cyrus Temple.

Maybe they're clones that are already made and are "in the field" that you fight? Either way, I hate how boring the gangs were in The Third, it's what, a generic Euro organization, Tron 1337 h@ck3r$, and Mexican Luchardores, and they all barely get screentime. Loren dies right away and the twins aren't that interesting (only interesting fact is one of them is Sasha Grey), gay ass basic bitch Matt Miller, and angry wrestler man. 1 and 2 did the gangs way better, and also I hate how they treat the Boss like he's some random street trash thug, he took out six big gangs and one of the biggest corporate entities in the country, was literally BTFO'd, and survived and got his revenge. The Syndicate should have been kissing his ass, but then again maybe that was the point of the story, that no one fucks with the Saints.
