Saints Row thread

one thing i noticed when playing the remaster is how the penthouse mission clicks well but it was too early so to speak.
like blasting your load after 2 thrusts, they teased everyone with their trailer about the penthouse raid and takeover and it literally happens three missions after you started the game.
still, the music was used correctly and it fits the mission, i found a video of a dude that takes his time doing it and pay attention to the music.
That mission made me fall in love with saints row 3, shit game but I still liked it.

I'm honestly shocked at what they've decided to do. Not only do they not include the original characters in the game, like gat, pierce, or shaundi. They replace them with shitty looking "modern" ones. They didn't even try to give us anything new. They just turned peirce into urcle, gat into a gay dude, darkened both kinzie and shaundi and turned one of them gay. I wonder what inspired this change. Alot of the people at volition have been working on saints row since like the first game, and they didn't have a problem with having NPC's call you a crazy nigger, so idk. Saints row 3 had fun characters, but it was a shit game, same with 4. From what I see, they've finally made a good game, but the characters look like complete shit. No middle ground I guess.

What tickles me is they're doing all this while engaging in all the standard scummy practices of modern gaming. Season pass, selling skins, epic exclusive. They're effectively relying on the brand name to get away with the standard tripple a scams-the last thing you want to do is fuck with the brand since your relying on fan goodwill to waste $100 for a $40 dollar game in a saturated market.

Oh goody, I can be more appropriate here:

These are the words of a crayon eating retard who last seriously gamed oh... I dunno, how many generations back was the N64? Because he sure as shit stopped trying before then, and watching your Alkie brother or reading articles will never match actually playing or researching a game.

If he did, he'd realize the big issue people had was it didn't feel like a crime game; it felt like college assholes writing a post-modern sandbox game where they can quip their way past the bad guys. The designs are just the quickest things to point out due to how derivative they are of your average [current year] hack.

Now every time I see "appeal to modern audiences," I assume it's going to be crap. Modern taste in media is slowly turning to crap.

Chief creative officer Jim Boone says that it’s, broadly, a “contemporary” millennial “power fantasy.”

I play Saints Row for the gangsta fantasy that GTA doesn't provide. Busting caps at rival gangs, taking over strongholds, laughing at the no bars humor, customizing my character to BE that gangsta.

"Contemporary millennial power fantasy."

The only ties to Saints Row is power fantasy, what the hell kind of description is that? "Contemporary" means that it'll be firmly rooted in early 2022, which will end up dating the game within months at best. "Millennial" is a huge turn off for many since people dislike that generation, even millennials hate other millennials.

Is Volition trying to turn people away from this game? Every time they talk, they keep making it sound even dumber.

I mean really
How could anyone have they're hopes up for a Saint's Row game after everything that's happened
RIP Idol Ninja
Everyone keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop with this and for some dev to finally step up and say "enough of this shit" but it's yet to happen.

The more this crap bombs the closer we get to that.

Such a literal "no fun allowed" climate we live, what the fuck's up with that?

Creating a muscular, naked, blue skinned man and running around smacking people with the dildo bat was a good time.
