Saints Row thread

  • Happy Easter!
Hot take:
I liked Watch Dogs 2 a lot and found the characters endearing.

There was quite a bit of sjw pandering, but not too much.
The hacking was underwhelming, like the first, but running up to people to melee them with the ball was great. The little gadget car was a fun addition but the quadcopter seemed like a bit much. The best the game has to offer is ai interactions, using a trainer to repeatedly call the cops on gang members and begin giant fights is the most fun I have had in a gta like.

That, instigating argument via crashes and getting civilians arrested is all I do. Shit never get's old.

Someone made a comparison on Reddit which shows half the map is empty desert or water: Comparison
The map already looks soulless compared to the second game. Why is it so hard to create a memorable map in modern open world games? The second game map's was very memorable to give Gta a run for its money but this looks like a Ubisoft game map.

Just want to point out that online retailers not named Amazon or Best Buy have Saints Row IV selling for just $4 to $5. I seriously might just pick this game up, even if this one was the weakest for completely changing the lore of what made the Saints famous.
I didn't really care for IV, but you're bound to get at least five bucks worth of entertainment out of it.

I highly recommend it. It's a great superhero open world game.

Here's 30 minutes of gameplay for your (dis)pleasure. There's no commentary in case your worried about listening to some idiot try and hype this.

It looks..... Fine.. I guess..

But fuck that big "Ultimate" in the middle of the screen during shooting, holy crap.. Put that on the side or maybe work into the the UI..
This isn't even a gang game, you aren't small-time nobodies stealing cars or tagging or even running from the cops
The fuck is this

Longshot but maybe someone here can help. Having an audio issue with Saints Row the Third Remaster where the audio mixing seems to be completely fucked - the car engine sounds are barely audible as is the radio (really quiet and some songs are basically almost silent). I can't find any information on how to fix this, all I found was a couple of threads where people complain about the issue. The only "fix" is cranking my master volume way up but then if there is any other sound effect (crash or get out of the car and shoot a gun say) I blow my fucking ear drums out. Anyone come across this and have a possible solution?

Was looking forward to playing the game but its basically unplayable because of the sound issues.
I remember having the same issue on the original version of SR3. If you have a Nvidia card, try to limit the framerate to 60 max.

Also I found this. I'll copy this part.

>The pair then praised the Saints Row reboot’s character customization — which was recently revealed to have replaced gender options with a slider, and reduced overall chest size — and explained the use of gender-neutral pronouns was merely for technical reasons and making it easier to integrate with the vast customization options rather than making the player character non-binary.

Look at how they butchered their game to appease trannies. Sex is a slider, not male or female. Chest size is at max a D cup. And the use of gender netural "They" and "Their" means your character will always feel outside of the story.
lol yeah that's a bullshit excuse. It wasn't an issue in the previous games.

Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer, Jussie Smollett, Mark Ruffallo...
and Stacey Abrams.

Definitely go for it if you like the Prototype and inFamous games, it's like a mashup of those two with Saints Row characters.

I have a conspiracy theory:

Saints Row's reboot was originally more tonally in line with the older games, but corporate mandates (or retardation from Volition themselves) told them to make it more Fortnite-like.

At around 1:52 in the video above, MrSaintsGodzilla says how the game "looked totally different" when he saw the game in 2019 to the trailer reveal. I can also confirm that I have seen from an unnamed source concept art of the new game that confirms this around that same time (a gritty gang initiation where a new member of the saints is beaten by existing members). I also saw concept art of wacky ideas like an all girl roller derby gang, so maybe the game was always going to be like this and Volition are just retarded.

Many of the gaming developers (especially in western gaming) of today are much different from the gaming developers from even a decade ago. No taste, no good ideas, no real talent. Look at the GTA Trilogy remasters. That shitty studio couldn't even remaster three ancient open world games without it being a glitchy, broken mess and modern Rockstar had the nerve to actually release it as a retail package. Creating an actual new, original open world game is beyond the ability of the modern woke developers. This new Saints Row is disgraceful and the modern gaming media is such a joke that they're doing anything they can to defend it. This is why people gatekeep hobbies. You let these fuckers in and they ruin it.

You hit the nail on the head very. I noticed after the PS2 or PS3 era, games don't innovate anymore or take risks. They just like to play it safe or try to copy another game without doing their own thing.

if the only thing this game has for it is the gameplay they are in deep shit. I hated SR3 gameplay and i didnt even bother with SR4.
