Saints Row thread

  • Happy Easter!
>@The Last Stand rates this post optimistic
>he really is hoping that Saints Row 2022 turns out to be good

Someone get a video camera on him when he plays it for the first time
I agree if only cause i want to see his room. Instead of chinese cartoon posters and waifu pillows i expect him to have lewd fanart of Hillary Clinton and Betty White or somethin

Outside of the Watch Dogs games, this "Saints Row" would be the only "post-GTA V crime game", so that's not saying much.

And I despise the timeline we're in where Saints Row is now being mixed with "brunch hangs" and student loans.
What the everloving fuck is a "brunch hang" and why does the very sound of it make me irrationally violent*

*Yes, I know, EVERYTHING makes Jason irrationally violent.

I can only assume it's the "gang" having brunch, judging from some of the preview videos.

I swear to god, everything about this game is making the "gang" look like some of the biggest douchebags I've seen in any media.

Oddly enough, my biggest worry about the characters from how the trailer carried zero indication that Generic Edgy Grrrl was meant to be the Boss. Every other SR trailer made it immediately clear who they were, and in some cases without any dialogue.

Yeah, I play Saints Row, first thing I think of is having brunch with the squad.

My room, my rules.

It's not really hard to crave for a genre that hasn't had an entry in it for years. Especially if a piece of shit is the only new one available.

Also the second sentence in this paid-off idiot's own article INSTANTLY would make me not buy the game if I didn't know already how shit it was gonna be.

You want your post-GTA V fix, play Watch Dogs 2. If you want an open world GTA clone, there are plenty of choices. No reason for this game.

Sleeping Dogs always needs more love. Easily the superior open world game with Dogs in the title.
Sure, but that predated GTA V by a year, only things that came out since GTA were the Watch Dogs games and this abomination.

Here's 30 minutes of gameplay for your (dis)pleasure. There's no commentary in case your worried about listening to some idiot try and hype this.

It looks..... Fine.. I guess..

But fuck that big "Ultimate" in the middle of the screen during shooting, holy crap.. Put that on the side or maybe work into the the UI..
Writing as i watch:
Well the mißion it starts with looks ok, I mean i have seen worse?
Npcs are written either try hard or tolerable
Oh dear I just saw the party crashers trying get back the "codex?"
Action looks ok?
Feels like this is early in fpgame?

Overall feels like the worse parts will be later and this would be better with not having the saints row name
Edit: I realized I am dead on the inside if this looks just meh to me

Why are they making a big deal out of gender neutral pronouns when "The Boss" was a great catch all and was consistent with the tone and feel of the game anyway?
And if you want to play devil's advocate and say it's because you're a new gang member I'd settle for "Playa" again.
Anyway, looks real underwhelming and I bet the soundtrack will suck too.

These days, I think developers using "they" is a way for them to cut corners instead of creating two different sentences like they used to.

The fact that some people genuinely believe this to be a virtuous & "brave" act says so much about the past decade.

Oh yes, being "brave" is deviating from a series' roots for an audience that doesn't even like the original's foundation. Even without that, this reboot looks mediocre at best.
