Because I like actually discussing politics and having threads related to it routinely overwhelmed by two to three spazzes throwing shit at each other, and having to scroll through a majority of posts being that shit instead of the discussion I came there for detracts from that experience. It also contributes to combative pricks roaming around and flaming you if you step slightly out of the board's Overton Window, actively impeding the building of a community, which is what Null explicitly said he wanted to achieve with whatever A&H regime gets instated.

There are entire threads on this site already dedicated to watching monkeys fling poo at each other at various other places if you enjoy that experience. Why do we have to host such a community here as well?

Absolutely. The problem isn't that there are far right posters in A&N, the problem is that there isn't anybody else.

I mean a lot of lefties (not all) tend not to engage on the ideas they just say X is bad position and believe if you disagree with it then you're either evil or you're too dumb to debate with me. on some issues it makes sense on others it leaves no room for nuance.

There's a lot of hand-wringing over the "far right retards" that "refuse to integrate" into the site, but that seems like a bullshit excuse to exorcise wrong think.

Here's my takes:
- "Cleaning up" A&N will never be in the overall site's benefit other than egos. There are no advertisers for KF that are being held back by that.
- If you want to bitch about people who have their home boards and don't deviate, there's always others like Beauty Parlor.
- If there are problem users that especially make things worse, target them specifically.
- Trying to introduce "more left-wing" positions into A&N is a disaster, this is akin to "more diverse voices" or whatever the latest trend is. Over time this WILL became a left-wing hugbox.



The problem is that the other "N-word" is basically used by the media as "anything I don't like" or "anything vaguely right wing", and I suspect that's the language here too.

Basically this is the Crux of my issue with "cleaning up articles and Happenings" If we go down the route reddit and something awful and reset era and nearly every other website has gone the farms turn into a shitshow. last time I checked Reddit is proof that /Pol/ might be full of retarded schizophrenics but reddit will always be fake and gay.

That's subjective though. "Spazzing" and "sperging" are just euphemistic language for "conversations I don't like." Not everything has to be appealing to you specifically. The "spazzes" are probably enjoying themselves. Why shouldn't they be allowed to?

Imma be real with you bro. I just don't believe that this site is in any way detracting to right wingers. I do however think that A&H is aggressively hostile to left wingers. Primarily because I'm a Nazi and have been challenged like five times out of my - disgustingly large - posting history. What I post is mainly off the cuff comments or two thousand word rants on why exterminating niggers is a moral imperative.

I don't see how the site is hostile to people like me. But I do see how A&H can be an unpleasant experience if you post things like 'actually niggers are people' and get fifty guys writing essays on why you're a subhuman. What happened to this thread overnight has clued me into the real problem: Both the ardent A&H defenders and their detractors have a fundamental inability/unwillingness to agree to disagree.

@Null talked about needing unity. 30 pages of back-and-forth between the same half dozen users abandoning the idea of talking to each other to instead come up with increasingly elaborate taunts and dunks makes a community feel hostile, unwelcome, and, as he said, combative.

Forget what I said in my essay earlier. The #1 guiding principle for the prospective despot should be that users need to be encouraged to agree to disagree when it becomes clear they have irreconcilable positions. Put users on temporary breaks from threads when they stop discussing and start only insulting. Either side of the political aisle. If it becomes a pattern across multiple threads, temp ban them from the board. Escalate as needed across the Thunderdome.

No one enjoys pages upon pages of shitflinging except the pigs wallowing in it, and we've had quite a few rage hogs upset that their favorite sty is under threat I

I'm a very ardent defender of A&H being kept to itself, as itself. This site needs a political shitting zone, otherwise political rageposts have nowhere else to go.
