Silent Hill

Watched several streams of it on the weekend. It's a pleasant surprise. I'm not crazy about the character designs but the story is intact and the dialogue while massaged in places, is still generally the same. I don't know how I feel about making the boss fights in obvious boss arenas but I guess it's fine. Abstract Daddy looks tough as shit to fight.

Pyramid Head is fucking brutal with his range and damage output. And it should be that way.

It does make me wanna get a niggerstation 5 a bit. Plus Delta will be out next year too.

Bro this and Delta are not PS5 exclusive just buy a PC.

Looks like Konami/Bloober PR guntguarders are gonna be in this thread now. I just find it funny the level of tolerance people will have for one thing but won't have for others. The levels of "bad" must differ. More fucking remakes? Well, its what the retarded faggots want. You wanna know what was also critically acclaimed? The Outer Worlds. Halo 4. Halo Infinite.

Ironically, the guntguarding for the game will itself evaporate once these aspiring contrarians find that the relative mediocrity of the product managed to dissipate most of the criticism they were expecting to get high "engaging" with.

the remake is technically more polished and has better combat mechanics, but the edges have been sanded off, and as a result, is less engaging on the whole.

It's distinguished as being a purely commercial product - Of course people at Konami and Bloober are going to look at the sheets and go, "We don't want our horror story making anyone too uncomfortable."

well the sh2 remake aint perfect but i think we can be glad team bloober didnt race swap and have any alphabet inserts. the shit motive studio did with dead space remake was horrendous.

Care to elaborate? So many years had passed between my playing the original and remake that the only thing I found myself rolling my eyes at were the dated boss fight mechanics being preserved. I know characters only there to round out the cast of corpses were race-swapped or implied to be some sort of "space gay" - But all I'm recalling is that every one of them were brutally eviscerated and dismembered. That's equality.

The voice acting is so boring I don't know how people can defend it. The story is dogshit, padded with bloat, has unnecessary dialogue added in for the sake of it. The story is not the same because of such changes. I swear people will lie to themselves JUST so the franchise can continue so Konami doesn't cancel shit again or something. Maybe its purely for the gameplay which is essentially Downpour 2.

The acting is poor just like the original. It just doesn't have that weird inflection the original did. Much like RE1 to REmake. That's not to say I prefer the remake because I don't.

This is the RE4 remake hullabaloo all over again. Give them some time and the Blooper shills and guntguarders are all going to be "yeah maybe it wasn't that good" and everyone will just go back to appreciate the OG.

Another bragging point likely made in the Konami shareholders meeting.

Concerning all the comparisons to the RE remakes: They were cash-ins to sell more versions of what were near-universally acclaimed games of which generations of ports and re-releases had been sold. Now that Crapcom's cycled through them up to the choice to remake either their racist entry or their transvestite entry, it will be fascinating to see how far they're willing to go in sanitizing their own legacy product for the sake of selling it again - God forbid they risk focusing on original stories or IPs.

In the case of remaking a "classic" Silent Hill game, Konami's in a different position of trying to make their rehash more palatable than the original, which had more limited appeal - while simultaneously pretending that it's the original recipe, in a new can, with different ingredients clearly labeled: They simply can't have it both ways without bullshitting either a little bit or a lot; and I think they were over prepared to convince their audience that they're in danger of missing out on the latest helping of shit, due to not recognizing that their target audience had already conditioned themselves to the taste of shit in the course of consuming the broader DEI and remake-saturated video game market of the past few years.

This could be a new era of Silent Hill comparable to the Child's Play franchise; where enough of a segment of the population will tolerate the injected faggotry just for the opportunity to clap when they see Chucky/Pyramid Head/Recognizable Pop Culture Thing Bearing Minimal Resemblance to the Past Version of Itself Which the Audience Remember Enjoying. It won't sell RE numbers - But it might be enough to get more mediocre installments greenlit purely to sustain a pre-existing IP being mentioned alongside other trends.

That does seem like the better investment and my PC is over a decade out of date. It's just I'm a console faggot and I need to stop that shit.
I am proud of you Kiwi bro, the first step of healing is admitting you have a problem.

So once we get you to the promised land of PC, we can work on this whole "paying for things in the Year of Our Lord 2024" business.

Its because they got a fuckin BRITISH dude, to voice an American lol so he does this awful grungy voice to mask his accent. Luke Roberts. Weird af casting. Maybe its because they are polacks stuck in Europe but I feel like they could have gotten Americans if they tried, or did an MGS3 and reused the original acting.

Did they keep the walter sullivan grave or did they try update it to tease a silent hill 4 demake (jesus christ how horrifying)

This game really does feel like downpour 2. The walking through the town, combat, everything feels like silent hill downpour. That’s really not a good thing at all.

they kept a note about Walter's murders in the game, i think they elaborated on it
legit think the room would benefit from the third person camera angle for the levels instead of the weird half measure tank controls the original had but they won't touch it because the room is seen by people as when SH "went to shit"
