If I recall correctly, this "friend" of his was supposedly going to co-own the website with him. Apparently, there was some kind of disagreement on who was getting what in terms of revenue and the friend locked him out of the website preventing him from doing anything with it. Honestly, knowing how much he's lied in the past, it's probably total bullshit. And Rob was never even that popular to begin with. His channel never even broke 20k subs. Before his drug crashout I believe his channel was stagnant at around 19,400 subs total. It is quite fascinating how even the slightest amount of internet fame can make people this way.
