Why?
Because these shit shows are made by people on the god damn site and seeing their work on TV means they don't have to take the effort in at least TRYING to deviate from the norm style. We all know Marvel and CN pick their 'artist' and 'creators' based on the Tumblr popularity vs actual skill or willing to work with that talents they have. The same people who green-light these shows are the same people who don't really know how Tumblr works or at the very least don't seem to comprehend that just because something is 'well received' on the site doesn't mean it's actually GOOD. I liken it to how back in the day FRED was popular on Youtube and because of that popularity, some numbnuts decided to give the guy TV movies because, hey! It's popular on Youtube! That'll mean tons of money, right?
Right now, CN and Marvel are going through that phase but, to me anyway, at a bigger and much more annoying level seeing as they're picking their 'creative' teams from one of the worst shitholes you could go to for recruitment, or at least they're picking the very worst of the worst when there are better artist out there, ones that don't have the popularity because their work doesn't toe the line or scares these trigged masses off by features, LE GASPS, bodies that aren't drawn like logs of shit fresh from the ass.
It's the whole idea of CN promoting 'safe and diverse art' but it's neither of those things. It's water-downed, especially when you see there is no DIVERSITY in looks between many of these shows with just a few exceptions. They're all drawn the same and flow the same in story and dialogue because that's all these chucklefucks know how to do. You can't challenge them to write or contribute to a project that works differently from their basic storytelling since they make it clear they don't know how to be subtle and think that badly done meta humor coupled with a lot of anime and video game references is what it takes to be cool. Not even good anime references either; they just straight up take exact lines and moves from something and then present it as their own, no joke or slight head-nods.
tl;dr- Tumblr loves this shit because it matches the skills they already have and gives them the idea that experimenting is bad due to it possibly leading to 'problematic' designs. The end.

I don't understand why people hate drawing her like this second pic.
Here's the reason why; the original Jinx from the comics was Indian and, believe it or not, suffered from cancer so I'm guessing they're trying to go back to those points of the character's history. Granted, given the age of some of the people drawing this I doubt if they actually know that and just so happened to line-up her original background to their unending thirst to draw everyone brown. I don't mind her TT animated series remake given she wasn't the only one who got a massive change considering that Gizmo was DEAGED (I believe) as he's not a kid; he's an adult.
