Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

I saw a thread on Twitter about stories for lesbians and this one caught my eye.

Webcomic

Either the main character is white or Filipino, because in a couple pages of the story her and her mother just call each other Filipino phrases. She's autistic and a janitor who's boss is an Evil White Man. Randoms on the street are either black or noticeably Indian. Her therapist is a black woman with her hair shaved on the sides. The two women in the back of the cover, one speaks Hindi and the other speaks Arabic.
The webcomic isn't even finished it's currently 55 pages long and the last update was December 30, 2017. There's no reason why this should've been listed other than it filling in the pee oh see fetishists.

And yet even she got the Filipino phrases wrong. NO PARENT EVER calls their child "syota" as it's more of a term meaning "boyfriend/girlfriend". Yes, the dictionary term has it mean "sweetheart", but it's widespread considered more of a term for a romantic partner. A more acceptably endearing word for parents to call their daughter (or basically a little girl from an adult point of view) is "Iha".

Also, while "Ina" is correct as it's a referential word to a mother and back then when everything in the Philippines is formal, it's more preferable for Filipino kids nowadays to call their moms as "Inay" or "''Nay" (as in Nanay, another word for "mother"), hell even "'Ma" works .

Basically she REALLY does not know how to even make actually good pee oh cees.

EDIT: Of course, she only has her be written as Filipino-American because "representation" without legit research.

^Reminds me of when white american writers attempt to write hispanics, and they often show them speaking butchered Spanglish (and of course, the Spanish is incorrectly written, plurals are where they shouldn't, words are misgendered...). Or even when europeans/spaniards write latinos, and they speak more like cartoons than real people.

This post pushed me over the edge to finally make one of these.

Today on BABD, they bitch about Alysia (go down a bit). How dare she talk about battle and ice magic as things that are beautiful and artistic. She also has thigh-highs and a prancing way of walking! I find the art and beauty aspect a fun aspect to her character and not something that's the "creepy marketing guy's" idea.

Sorry for the double post, but WOW, do they stretch. I understand wanting to work practicality into the designs because the costume dysmorphia gets creepy, but now I'm convinced they're just trying to keep up the content on some of these things.

The post below that with the art that they praise, the woman with the pouches around her chest, actually makes me cringe because it looks suffocating.

Why would an alien adhere to any of Earth's religions?
Much less one who has never been to Earth. I remember some weird thing that happened when this episode aired and this character, Zircon, was introduced. She wears some sort of bizarre headpiece that look like it was made out of cloth so of course people had to 'correct' it into being a hijab.

It's even funnier because apparently the designs for the Zircons are actually based on Film Film Film, a short animated movie about the film industry from 60s Soviet Russia.
