This fan-fiction appears to be about Ash from Pokemon falling in love with a human female version of Pikachu:

In case anyone wants anything other than Reddit threads from Skylar, he play's a lot of Minecraft as well. Just look up Skylarmt, you'll find quite a bit as that's his main pseudonym as he's been using it since 2011 at the very least.

He's also done some work over at ED in the past on the Bantown article.

Well there's a SkylarMT on a site called "peefans dot com" @Meowthkip http://archive.is/eyBRK
The age seems to match up.

You're thinking of the Protestants, modern Catholics are fine with evolution. The fucking Pope outright said "When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so."

Tbh from what I've learnt most protestant sects are secular as fuck. Might be more of fundie thing. Or Skylar thing.

Agreed, Catholic schools teach evolution as early as grade three when they talk about dinosaurs.

Yeah. Creationism is more the exception than rule most of the time. Most Protestants and Catholics who aren't religious extremists generally accept evolution, a lot with the "God is the carpenter, evolution is the hammer he uses" logic, which doesn't really conflict with anything the Bible says.

You're thinking of Islams, only the most insanely fanatical protestant sects still condemn Pokemon.

Is Skylar a brony too?
It's possible but probably not. MLP:FIM's #2 mission (#1 being "Buy more toys!") is to espouse tolerance, acceptance, and the whole harmony thingie, all of which Skylar is demonstratively proved he's against. And there's the whole quasi-goddess characters, which would definitely stick in his fanatical craw.

If you start from the premise that evolution is an incompatible and conflicting theory to your religion, then the notion that governments shouldn't require schools to teach it is still a secular point of view. Most protestant denominations don't consider the theory of evolution to be incompatible anymore, but the ones that do aren't really violating the protestant ideals of secularism when they throw a fit over it being taught in schools.

It's a fundamentalist thing. Pretty much every Christian in my closer social circle (which is to say, the ones that were there when I got taken to church) is a young-earth creationist, and biblical literalism is the name of the game (as it's the Word of God and all).
