Smaller Communities that are awful but don't deserve a thread

For people that like fashion, there's many communities which are small and awful but full of terrible people - namely The Purse Forum.
There's snipey catfights that spill out from the forum to real life, people who destroy other's reputation by launching smear campaigns that they sell fake bags, just because they take offence at something they've said... it really goes on.

My favorite was a thread a long time ago about women buying Hermes bags online in "desperation", because the Hermes waiting list was "simply too long".
Idiotic New York housewives would spend over $25k on bags from shady sites and then be in complete "shock and horror" when they'd get their bag, take it to Hermes for verification and find out it was a fake.... then have the bag confiscated by Hermes.
There was even one lady or ladies who ended up inviting the counterfitter to her apartment and ended up with a knife being held at her throat and a year long tirade of death threats being phoned to her apartment.
There were about 20 different stories similar to this. One idiot even spent $40k and got a fake. Her husband was upset, so she had a mental breakdown. It was all rather hilarious.

I went to the forum originally to see if I could find one specific thing and ended up reading "horror" story threads instead. People with too much time and money on their hands do the most hilarious shit, so if you ever want to laugh at people hoisted by their own Hermes petard, that's the best place to do it.

Bag insanity
I'm sorry, 40k for a bag? That's Saudi-tier financial idiocy.

I'm currently watching a motorbike forum eat itself at the moment. It's a shame, because it was brilliant years ago - it had a vast breadth of technical and experiential knowledge on tap, and used to be loosely moderated. However, over time, it got needlessly politicised, broke into factions and is now dying as the forums old guard have all drifted away, myself included.

Oddly enough though, it wasn't left-wing politisperging that killed it, but right-wing. There's one guy in particular whose sole source of information seems to be the daily mail that has the loudest voice, and the most autistic ways of expressing it. He has a group of people on his enemy list, and will un-enemy them long enough to read their posts and rate them negatively, then put them back on his enemy list. This has been going on for years now.

Anyway, I'm not including any more detail on the forum, because powerlevel. I know there's a couple of members from there on here, and they'll know exactly who I'm referring to.

Honestly I think South Park fans count, at least the ones who get hung up on shipping. I dunno, it just seems weird the main draw of that show for some people is which nine-year-olds are holding hands. I always thought characters "dating" in that show was just to take the piss out of IRL adult relationships.

South Park seems to draw in a lot of idiots that do not get its' jokes. I mean, just look at all the spastics that unironically agree with anything Eric Cartman says.

hardcore American Dad fans, who are usually so lowfunctioning I genuinely can't see what they get out of the show

AD itself is okay though
I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I am surprised that American Dad has hardcore fans. Isn't it just a comedy animated show you watch when you're bored?

Some of you mentioned /vg/ earlier in this thread, but I wanted you to focus your attention on a particular general that haunts that place and it's particularly infamous even among the other generals of the board: the Katawa Shoujo general (or /ksg/ shortened).

What is Katawa Shoujo? Here:
https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katawa_Shoujo

The general is still permanently active on the board since 2012 of non stop reposting the same stuff, and now it's basically a 24/7 suicide/depression/waifufagging thread filled with fanfictions.

Also, special mention to the Doki Doki Literature Club general which happened to share the same identical fate and it has also a link for the suicide hotline always in the OP.

Anyone remember when ks/b/ was a thing? Also on the subject of videogame generals the /gsg/ (grand strategy) spergs are comically awful. Another group that I personally dislike, but don't necessarily view as a community is superhero/comic book fans.

Nevermind it got banned

Good.

It was a special croc birkin. Some super rare one that like, if you're not on the waiting list and Hermes don't actually give you themselves, then you'd have to be a fucking clown to believe some arab guy on Craig's list would have it.

https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/help-i-bought-a-fake-bag-at-9-7k.710946/ This is the stupidity of these broads.
The run down was this woman paid $9700 for an Hermes HAC and she believed it was fake. It was very clearly not fake, but in her opinion it was a fake.
(I think at the end, it was decided that the woman overspent and tried to sully the guy because she wanted to return it. It was deemed authentic though.)
There have been quite a few posts removed because people were equating Japs to "Chinese and thus certainly would be fake", but this dumb bitch went on and on handflapping for post after post about what she should do. I never got too deep into it because the stupidity of the situation was just too much, but suffice to say, if you're willing to hand over $9700 in two different payments for a handbag that you cannot touch before you commit and you DON'T do it via an escrow like service, then you deserve to have that $9700 taken off you by a band of gypsies.

I have to ask: what do these purses (handbags?) do? I mean, besides the brand, what makes them so special? Someone upthread compared this to the Saudis, but when the Saudis buy a solid gold Rolls-Royce, they get a Rolls made of friggin' gold. What do the buyers of these bags get?

Realistically - Satisfaction for a short time. It's like a drug. That's about it.
Socially - These people want to fit in with whomever they associate with, so that sense of belonging.
The whole site is pretty amusing, from a people watching perspective, though it gets old pretty quick, because these people are pretty horrible.

In reality, having an expensive handbag is a burden. Sure it's fun at first, because it gives you a rush, but the first time you get a mark on that handbag or those pair of shoes or whatever, it becomes (or should become) very obvious that handbags and shoes get dirty and are utility pieces . They're going to get dirty etc and you spent money on something that doesn't do anything and you have to carry it around.

They're status symbols, why do Millionaires buy engraved 1911s despite offering no tactical advantage whatsoever.
